View Full Version : Banner sign ?
I am getting a new banner and was wondering what the best styles of banners to get. The last one I had was just like nylon die cut lettering. You know the basic ones that are pretty fragile. Any one know a good online retailer of banners? I will probably buy local in the Eugene area but want to know what the best rates and the best most durable styles are.

Skip if you have a jazzy graphic you've put together yourself, you could get that printed onto a banner fabric.
Some of the inks are made for outdoor use (UV resistant) and you're right, there's plenty of choice on the base fabric.
You gets what you pays for but a trippy eye-catching graphic attracts more folks than fancy lettering, it's the magpie effect, like dichro. You must have a local signguy?

Skip,
Call a couple of local sign shops and get prices. The price can fluctuate from one shop to another, it depends on the scope of work the shop does.
Don't buy a nylon or fabric banner. PSV graphics don't hold very well to either. You want a PVC vinyl coated banner. The graphic stick better and can be removed with a heat gun for any future changes that you make. It can be easily cleaned with soap and water when it gets too dirt. Get one that has grommets every few feet for hanging.
I'm in the sign business,
Mike

Hey Emmet what size banner fits in there the best? I get a lot of 8x8 indoor booths and don't think I want a banner wider than eight feet. How do you think a 8 foot banner would look in a 10 foot frame?
I'll prolly order the frame tomorrow. I got to call him and make sure they can deliver in less than 2 weeks.

looks like the frame is probably 4x8 if you take out 6" at each end for the connections... maybe a bit over, but under 5x10?

The frame is 5 x 10 and it comes in 5 ft sections of 3/4 emt tube and a few conectors. For non-10x10 booths emt tube and tarp fittings are great.

All banners are printed on high quality vinyl banner fabric on our high resolution large-format solvent inkjet printers. These printers operate on output graphics based on your submitted computer art files, with resoution up to 720 dpi.
Should I stay away from this style printing? Says they use inkjet printers...

no those are fine. Solvent based inks are going to me more likly water proof/uv proof.
The only problem is they scratch easily.
