Hi folks. For those of you that have been to our place before, you’re very familiar with “The Moretti Building”… that was just a generic name we assigned to it so people knew which place we were talking about.

This year we are giving it a personality unique to “Wonka World”, and I would like to share the photographs of the progress as it unfolds. We are proud to announce that it will be renamed after the “Human Lathe” himself, Roger Parramore.

Keep checking in on this thread, and you’ll see what this evolves into… it is something completely different than anything we’ve ever done and I really had to convince Elaine that it would be a cool thing… now she’s totally into it.

Here’s the first picture:

It MUST somehow incorporate his famous words "Blow Glass"
(In my opinion, anyway)

Well done, Roger. Can't wait to meet you.

Great Idea Maestro... we'll definitely incorporate that into the design! I should have some photos throughout the next week as the project progresses.

I'm considering putting the lathe in the Parramore building, since the moretti workers will occupy 1/2 of the new building. You're a fart smella... I mean smart fella, Doug : )

What? I've seen Roger work he definitely doesn't need a lathe he is one.

you too can be , see if hes teaching a class and take it , some of the best tips and thought processes about glass in a while.

and the only differnce is i think roger would put up more of a fight putting dial gauges on him to check if hes running true or a few thousandths off.

Good idea rob, I'll try to remember to bring mine.

We could make it a contest: who can spin the smoothest.

Just come to AGI I'm sure Roger will share a few secrets.

Did you notice that the balancing structure is not on the wooden post? This year we will have to start over and build another one.

Well, The Roger Parramore Building is completed with murals on 2 sides of it, and below is a series of photographs showing the progress from start to finish… which took about 4 hours in total.

that's nuts!

i also see that the bus is in the background.

Bear: when i was there it looked like some of the fish survived. I think that they should be included in what ever gets constructed as a legacy. just a thought.

Well the Yard art is no more Tom will have to tell you how it was broken.

So we have to start all over again the first structure will go up this year. Maybe we should start with under the sea and work our way up to the universe.

I propose we all do inspired interpretations of Rex Trimm for the first one.

themoch

that would classify as hell... wouldn't it? so we'd be starting lower than the sea floor....
