Just a thought.
The Saudis are boycotting American goods and raising the price of oil / gas to unheard-of prices .... just because ???
a) They dislike Americans
b) They dislike Americans
c) They dislike Americans
d) All Of The Above
Well I say we should return the favor!
An interesting thought is to boycott their GAS. Every time you fill up the car, you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia. Just buy from gas companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis.
I do quite a bit of travel ... investigating and profiling "PEOPLE" & hunting down leads that may one day save lives. Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill-up the tank, I am sending my money to people who are trying to kill me, my family, and my friends. Duuh!
I think it might be interesting for you to know which oil companies are the best to buy gas from and which major companies import Middle Eastern oil.
These companies import Middle Eastern oil:
Shell............................ 205,742,000 barrels
Chevron/Texaco......... 144,332,000 barrels
Exxon /Mobil............... 130,082,000 barrels
Marathon/Speedway... 117,740,000 barrels
Amoco............................62,231,000 barrels
If you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to over $18 BILLION! (oil is now $55-$60 a barrel)
Here are some large companies that
do not import Middle Eastern oil:
Citgo......................0 barrels
Sunoco...................0 barrels
Conoco..................0 barrels
Sinclair.................0 barrels
BP/Phillips............0 barrels
Hess.......................0 barrels
ARC0....................0 barrels

unless this is a freak coincidence dale.. this is a chain letter that came out in 1999 (according to web pages), more or less. web pages have been setup that talk about this particular chain letter. you can do a search and find out all you want. google for "urban legend oil gas" and they're there.
the best links on some of these web pages are to official governemnt sites that track oil purchasing. so, here's the REAL list of companies and where they get their oil.

Your government supports the Saudi royal family. The deal was that you have first right of refusal in exchange for protection by your millitary. This whole "war on terrorism" is a bad joke.
The legal definition of "terrorism" is useing fear for political ends. Who are they trying to scare by declaring war? And what were the demands of these so-called terrorists?
Used to be, someone would hi-jack a plane full of rich (relatively speaking) tourists and travellers, and demand the release of prisoners in return. Thus plane hi-jackers were considered terrorists. But the batch that happened on 9-11 were an act of war on the system that was to blame in their eyes for an average of 35615 children who starve to death evey day.
That is almost 10X the number of people those "terrorists" killed, and I have never been asked to observe a moments silence for them other than to be quiet about it!
They have good reason to hate us.
But we still have more to fear ourselves than the saudi's. I think it was in the twenties that the cartoon character Pogo said "We have gone forth and met the enemy, and he is us!"
Considering the Saudi's hatemongers just fuels the fire.
Brian.

Why can't we all just get abong?
I walk more places than I drive. Get a bike. Try not using as much gas PERIOD. I am probably going to go Bio diesel pretty soon. Just isn't a good time to buy a new car for me right now.

I've put alot of miles on my feet in the past 2 months. As far as driving, I've taken the lead outta my foot and have started putting around, attaining an average of 32 mpg! That's up from 22-25 mpg from months prior. And consider this, driving to Winship...$6...Shipping from Winship $7.50, just a buck fifty to avoid traffic.
I'd love to convert my Protege to run on propane, any info about that? (sorry, someone said hijacking)

Dont forget the gulf of mexico, west texas, southern NM and california.
Most of the gasoline around here comes from crude pumped within 200 miles of here.
America DOES impact the global price of oil, no matter where it comes from.
