Well, guy's I've had a minor setback:bummed: Today I called mountainglass to order a kiln, and I got to talking to the guy, and told him the other stuff I was going to buy, but I was going to order it from ABR, he then told me that they would match their price for the torch, hoses, flashbacks, eyewear, and regulators, but the AIM kiln they had for $265.00 that I was wanting to get(only one I could afford) they didn't have anymore, but he said they had one that was a little bigger, but used that he could let me have for $250, so I told him I would take it, he wanted to make sure it worked before he sold it to me, so he got my name and number.
Well, later on today he called me back and said the kiln wasn't working like it should. So, if you guy's know where I can buy a decent kiln for about $200-$300 please let me know.
The good news is my torch, and everything but the kiln is on it's way!!!
I did get a fiber blanket, to use for my practice stuff.
They also did something really cool for me though, they're throwing in a couple different clear tubes, and a small assortment of color rods for free to get me started. Anyways, the worst possible scenario is I would have to wait until income taxes to get a kiln, but atleast then I could order something like a paragon f-120, which is what I really wish I could get to start out with.

You should keep an eye on your local craigslist and newspaper classifieds, there is always someone selling their old ceramic kiln. They're often under $300 and usually larger than what you've been looking at. If you're not getting one with a bead door anyway there's no need to get one specifically marketed for glass, they're exactly the same thing.

and you know if it doesn't have a digital controller, you can easily fit one. Smutboy sells a conversion kit for starters...

thats basically the same kiln without the option of adding a ring. Definetly check craigslist I have seen dozens in my area for sale in the last few months.

arrow springs sells a very similar kiln http://www.arrowsprings.com/html/k_c_prices.html scroll down to where it says fusers and look at the f66 and f99 (275 and 375 respectively). Check ebay as well there are many companies that make basically the same little klin. All that being said Paragon has a pretty solid reputation and buying all your stuff from one location can save you hassle , shipping costs and only dealing with one place for all your warranty issues.
