camelback water bottle question

for those of you who have a camelback water system.

how does the mouthpiece attach to the hose? does it have it's own barb? or does the hose have a barb?

i ask because i want to make some interesting designs. i'll post pictures if it ever gets made... just wondering right now.

it slides on the hose with a barb the one i have then has a little ridge then the bight valve on the end with a rubber valve ..... i have 3 ...

remeber your design needs to be easy to clean , easy to service and re part ...

my camel back keeps me outta heat stroke.....

so does anybody know the diameter of the tubing used? i should have asked that up front...

yeah it'll be easy to clean/use... i have a version of it right now but it doesn't have the camel back mouthpiece... once it has that, i'll be a super sloth.

i probably wont sell these because it's a custom piece for myself... but just think in terms of "Wine hookah"

you can buy the bite valve asymbly .....

camel backs i have to say are a really really personal thing..... being that its a single tube and can grow some funky stuff , aslo look into getting it in aquarium blue i place the size on 2 of my modles from 1/4 to a 3/8th tube...

i clean out my camel back and sterlize it once every 2 weeks when i use it...

the other thing you might think abut if your doing a "wine hooka" is bite valve caps.... i wouldnt put glass any where close to the bite valve they tend to get some heavy swinging wear and are exposed....

but it would be cool to see what ya come up with.

I have a couple camelbacks that I use at Burning Man, always keep one full in the freezer while wearing the other, always use powdered gatoraide in mine and then as rob says I clean it out and sterilize it once I am done with it for the year.

What is it your trying to make ? A way to sneak booze into places ? They already make a beer belly shaped one for guys and a boob shaped one for women.

I've already made this cheap version... i want to put another hose on with a t-seal or something, and have a bit on the end so it doesn't leak out.
