thats hilarious!! wheres the second lp valve? great condition? you would think that someone owning a pawn shop,( a place with high traffic of stolen goods) would realize that blocking serial numbers is dead give away. however, they cant be that smart because they could have just skipped the serial number photo altogether. so even if it isnt stolen their still retarded for blocking it out. blocked or scratched out serial numbers on ANYTHING = stolen. no other reason to do so. guilty till proven innocent.

That's a sweet price though, but yeah it's odd that they blacked out the number.
Gypsea's was down in FL I think, this one's in CO.

I think Gypsea's friends was a CC plus, ball mount.
The blocked out number is a dead giveaway for sure. Knowingly selling stolen property is a crime. Funny, pawn shops usually try to be a bit more careful about fencing stolen goods. Especially ones with exposure on the Internet.
So, is anyone missing a torch out of Colorado or the surrounding area?

ok, so as far as i know, you should never post a serial number on ebay. i heard about a pawnshop here that posted a guitar on ebay with the serial number. some random guy called the police and reported a guitar stolen and gave the serial number he got from ebay as the serial number. he then called the cops a few days later to say the pawn shop had his guitar. the police went and got it for him and the pawnshop was out a guitar. so thats just what i heard.

i hate how people on here are so quick to pass judgment without any communication with someone selling something. just about anyone who puts a torch on ebay gets accused of it being stolen on here. torches get into peoples hands that dont know anything about them all the time legitimately. i know ive sold some torches that ive owned to some random people before when i was in some tight spots. ok whatever im done
Whats up with the outer propane?

That guitar story is highly dubious. First off, why didn't the pawnshop mention that they had posted the serial number on the internet? It seems to me that once this was mentioned to the cops, they may ask the person that called in to complain of theft to provide some proof of ownership. Second, why would the pawnshop owner not give the information to the cops about the individual that pawned the guitar? They are required to keep detailed records of each transaction to avoid the possible selling of stolen property.
That story has to be untrue, as you could just walk into any pawnshop, memorize a few serial numbers, and then call the cops a few days later for a grip of free stuff. Pure shenanigans. Seeing it on ebay would have nothing to do with how easy it would be to rob any pawn shop out of business.

...ebay, craigslist, we all know the internet is full of scams. its not like you can go out on the net and believe everything or everybody.

i'm with rojas..
it looks like the photo was edited, not the serial number itself.
posting the serial number would be dumb, because that's the unique identifier..
anyway. bicker on

wow. im still thinking about this. im pretty sure what rojas said is probably right. but it seems if you had a clear serial number it wouldnt be much harder to prove that its not stolen. i dont know?

um.
it DOES have a serial number
They blocked it out in the pictures.
If you're in Denver area and missing a torch like that get ahold of the police, the sooner the better. Call the pawn shop as well. Here is their main Denver number: 303-893-2353
Anything else really need to be said?
I own several guitars, and the only thing I have to prove ownership on a few of them is a hand written receipt. Not hard to fake.
I think what was said earlier about the serial # is probably true. There are scammers everywhere, why open your self up to getting scammed? The pawn shop probably knows better then anyone that if they post the serial # they might get scammed.
Pawn shops are required by law (at least in CO) to enter serial numbers into a stolen goods police database AND they have to see legit ID before you can pawn something.
