There isn't one as far as I know. You have to make your own identifying mark.

there is none on mine(mirage) either, I marked both the base and underside of the torch in hidden areas and took note of it on my original invoice. Numbers and initials and a random letter to make sure it stays different than others.

There's a sticky on the big end of my Phantom with numbers on it. I tried to peel something else off of it (I got it from another blower that had personalized it :) ), but the numbers seemed to lift off with the sticker. Could it be a serial #?
It would be a good thing to do- but labeling the base wouldn't do much good, you can take that off. Engrave the barrel? the butt? Where's the best place to put an identifier?

On the inside of the manifold.
i called gtt and tried to pitch the idea of putting serial numbers on their torches last year. i guess it's expensive? i didn't really understand the reason why not but whichever W i spoke to didn't seem very interested. i've seen too many people jacked, i think it's high time.

...just guessing that it costs money to catalog and then be the official keeper of that record.
take it to somebody that does pro engraving and mark it however you want. a dog would pee on it to mark it as his so its not such a bad option.
Only good reason I can think of for not putting numbers on torches and recording them is for the IRS. think about it. Kind of makes me like them even more.

The #'s on the herbies aren't serials they are part #'s. They put the burner assembly together & number each part, machine it to specs, take it apart to get any debis & shavings from machining, then they use the #'s to make sure they have everything back to the parts that were machined at the same time. I have # 79.
I asked the Herbie techs about the #'s in 2003 at gas and was told this.

...same on my torch, the pices stacked together making the barrel have #'s on them but i dont remember ever getting any serial # for it with the reciept.

So the govt or IRS has no way for recording how many they actually produce if theres no serial numbers? I guess that would save alot of money..
