Sometimes when i work condensation builds up in the handle of what i'm working on. It burns the hand and sometimes makes the piece crack. So here is my solution to this annoyance. Place the whole piece and handle in the kiln for a few minutes and then with gloves pull the handle out the doggy door so it can cool. and viola no more condensation.

We keep all all our prepped blowtubes on the top of the kiln, in a box. Keeps em hot enough to keep out condensation, but cool enough to handle.

Condensation is a major problem with our humidity.

anyone ever tried a Dehumidifier in their shop? I did, NC humidity, it was 10 PM at night, 82 degrees, with 74 dew point. No bullshit, I had a gallon of collected water in 12 minutes. Hey Chris Lester, or Fat Mike, remember that shit? Didn't work worth a fuck.

Water vapor is part of the exhaust from your flame. If your doing inside out work ,or any time your shooting the fame up into the point ,close off the handle end and you'll get less condensation.I use a piece of latex tubing about 1" with a piece of 9mmrod stuck in the end, some people use those squish able ear plugs.

plasticine works well for a stopper and its nice to have modeling clay around.

Have enough blowtubes so that you can have some on top of the kiln like boxfan said and rotate them out. I seem to have the worst condensation when I am doing prodo, where I will reuse the same blowtube for multiple pieces. This is what gives me the most condensation inside the tube because of how much you blow into it for every piece. Once you use the blowtube a few times, open up both ends and set it on the kiln for 10 min and there you go.

I do a short FLICK of my wrist so the droplets fly out the bottom. Like some Bruce Lee ish.

Something I picked up recently ....
Place peice in kiln..... And take a shop vac to the blowtube....
I used to switch blowtubes, or shove as much as poss. into the kiln, but this is so much faster.....
