okay so i have a mid-range plus and i want to know if i can run my big burner with an 8lpm at 15 psi any info would be extremely helpful. i just started doing implosion marbles and was wondering if i would still be able to pull like 1 1/4 inch pendants or maybe a little larger???:bangHead:

thats not enough i dont think. unless you have an air tank and only run the burner on and off. did you already buy the 8lpm machine?

no i havent bought the machine yet and all i really want it for is running my minor on top it will run that 100 percent ...and i was reading somewhere it will run the midrange with 4 mm candles on it i need to know now if i just run straight line from concentrator or put a flash protector on it. And also how big of a marble i could still pull off with that ive done on about an inch and a half on my minor on tanked 02

Well, if the machine really does put out 8 LPM at a good purity (90% or better), then it will run a Minor very well. Pressure is not as important as volume/flow or purity for the Minor (or the Midrange, for that matter).

You can get a good boro flame on a Minor with 8 LPM even at about 8 psi. The thing is, though, you want to make sure that the purity is good. With poor purity, you can still get a big-sized flame, but it will be a lot cooler and will also be reducing.

I run my concentrators/torches without flashback arrestors. Sometimes, I use quick disconnects with backflow preventors, though, because I switch stuff around a lot in my studio for testing stuff.

You're not going to be happy with an 8 LPM machine for the larger part of the Midrange...

For the Minor (Top) it will be fine but the for the bottom it just won't have enough oomph. You're going to want closer to 15-18 LPM for the Midrange bottom burner.

If you hooked 2 of the 8 LPM machines together you would have 14-16 LPM (higher the flow, lower the purity) with 15 PSI.

ty for letting me know that. The machine puts out 8 lpm at 95 percent +/- 3 percent. Im kinda new to glass blowing only been in a year and im self taught so everything is a new challenge
