I had owed my oxgen company $400 or so built up from rental fees ($106 a month) i have worked with this company for almost 8 years and know the guys decently well but recently i felt like i was getting ripped off. so today, after making some money at a craft show this weekend, i decided to go pay them off and talk to the guys about lowering my bill somehow....

So i find out that my $106 rental fee is solely based on how many liquids i have in my posession the last day of the month. keeping a tank for less than 1 month = no rental fee. even if there is still gas left. this could cut oxygen costs in half (a full tank delivered is about 100 as well). I feel like this would be easy to take advantage of, just make sure to send your tank back befor the 31st or whatever. im not sure if this is just my company or what, but it may be something for everyone to look into.

I do feel I was being ripped off for not knowing this beforehand.

ps. i am not a scammer in any way, im as honest as they come, but this seems like a realistic way to help cut corners, especially after researching oxygen generators (thousands$) and other options to save on material costs.

Yep, that's how its done around here too. The delivery guy gets slammed picking up tanks from all the vineyards on the last day of the month.

are you saying that if you have a tank for 35 days you have to pay two full months rent, even though you're also paying rent on the next tank? if so that's fucked up. it seems like if you always have a tank then they should just be charging you rent once a month. we pay by the day with polar so it doesn't work out like that.

everytime you have a tank at your house on the 31st you get charged $106. so if you return an empty (or a not so empty) on the 30th, and ask for a delivery on the 1st. you would not get charged. Even if you might have to pay 2 delivery fees, if they have to do it in two delivery days, that would only equal $20-30.

I called an airgas instead of the more local place I use to get a quote and they said ony $30 a month or 350 to lease for a year. which is substantially better,

It will be a shame to switch, they are good guys but you live and learn.
