Has anyone used this stuff for fillagrees or ribbons before? Does it work well for that or is there another application for it?

I love this stuff. I only use it for canes but it works great. What size are you thinking of getting?

I use it alot for making cane and ribbons. Takes all the time out of heating and flattening rods or big gathers.

Like glassroots said, it works great.

I draw lines down one side of it and sandwich it between another piece, spin it up one or two inches at a time from one side to the other.like making a twisty thats 10inches long.

I also coat the entire piece of flat rod in a single colour, heat the center all the way through and the left and right moderatley, stretch it out and get two even in size ribbons or flat horns

Lay some dichro down on one side, coat with lines of differant or solid colours for some nice dichro ribbons

You can do allot with this stuff, canes ,ribbons, bracelets, ect.

I've been using it for icicles. Stripe a color down 2" of one side of it, heat, twist, pull, loop, sell to the public. I tried making some fancier ones, but folks went nuts over the simplest ones last year.

I have used the flat rods to make fumed canes a few times. lol I just ordered some half round rods from ABR today. To see if it makes my canes more round without lines in them.

its killer for backing dichro. since it has no sharp edges, it heats really nice and works better than flat glass.

get a clinton press from marcel... you won't regret it

for small canes i dig it or even with the press they can be ok.... but if you got a marcel press (i think its differnt from the clinton press) its kinda moot the graphite box and the mass of glass is so fast but it does kinda tailor its self to doing big prep work. if your making little stuff flat rods still a great deal
