Hi everyone.

I just wanted to give you a heads up that The Flow Magazine will be publishing an article and photographs of the Lewis C. Wilson Building dedication from this year's Art Glass Invitational (A.G.I.).

I wrote the article (my first one ever), and it starts with how Lewis got me started with glass working through his videos, and ends with dedicating our new building to him.

It was the highlight of my career, if not my life, to pay tribute to my hero. I'm so proud that I was able to honor him the way that I did, and I know Lewis was proud as well.

When I told people that he retired his trademark gray top hat (which is on display here at our new facility), and I was told that he never let anyone even touch it. WOW- what an honor. It's like having Batman visit a little kid and leaving behind his utility belt.

Below is a photo of the display that we put together. It includes Looie's hat, assorted pieces of his work, and the shirt that was made for him the first time he met Robert Mickelsen. Yes, I would like to put the hat on my head just once, but out of respect there's no way I could bring myself to do that. He now wears a black top hat, which is identical to the one I've been wearing for years :)

Next year Lewis will be here at A.G.I. to dedicate the upstairs lounge to his hero, and it will be called The Bill Rasmussen Lounge. Bill was the first glass worker at Disneyland, and the first person to create solid borosilicate sculptures... It will be twice the honor to meet Lewis' hero. For those who attend our event next year, you will get to meet a true pioneer in glass working. If it were not for people like Bill and Lewis, many of us would not be doing what we do today.

Thanks for listening, and I look forward to seeing you next year :)

Thanks Misha :) Looie is da man. We'll be framing all of his laminated photos and stories as soon as we can!
