:evilLaughHa got yu:evilLaugh

Well i am a virgin it two ways

First post so be gentle :twitch: and new to the hard stuff being coe 33. I have been lurking here for a while now drinking up all the info that you talanted people put up for the un educted like me.

What im after is some idea on the maximum diameter and wall thickness of tubing for a Phantom running on bottled oxygen. I havnt recieved my toys yet from GTT but would like to order some tubing now as it will probale take a few weeks to get to Australia.

If you look at my website you will see i have only been into beads for the last couple of years but want to get into the blowing side as well. So any info is welcome.

Regards
Andrew.

yea... phantom will do 50x5 and 50x7 it just gets slower i would say thats where the time being put in starts being not worth the gas to cut tube.....

do what has says as you learn smaller is easier.....

Ah thats fantastic guys. Just didnt want to get anything to big. I have the 12 x 2 which i have been playing with on my mini cc with for a couple of months so il order a few of the larger sizes as well.

Any recomendations on manufacturer although at this stage i dont think it really matters as il just be testing the waters for the next few years id say.

Andrew.

See, that's when you have to seize the opportunity and open your own distributorship. *You* get wholesale prices for your own stock and you get to bring in supplies for the other fire addicts.

I'd say start with a case of 25x4

I just started using simax after the last 5 years of using pyrex and the differences (so far) are subtle. Go with something cheap to start out on. 1" heavy wall is a great tube to learn on. It gives you a decent amount of glass to work with so you won't lose control super easily and you can still spin it without cramping your forearms.

I wish I would have started on 19 its so much easier to start small.

i agree, start small.

everything you learn about the tube on a scale appropriate for your skill level and dexterity can be applied later to a smaller or larger scale vessel. start with points of 19mm x 2mm about 2 -3cm in length to do a bunch of plain bubble shapes and you will progress much faster. Gabrielle still at the Uni there? please, please have some iced coffee and some Haighs frogs for me, eh?

good luck.
