ok so no names but i think it is time to talk about something. some of you know me and some even know what im talking about and what shop i speak of. anyway we have a nice little shop with room for 9 at the moment there are three, the begining of august one of the six or so that was full time got a new shop and was moving. now one of our other guys got in trouble and put in jail for how long will be determined. so guy moving says that guy in jail has a check with monies that are his. so guy moves out late one thur or friday night you know when no one was there. when i came in to work that next day turned on the gases and found that someone (guy moving) had cut his female qwik connects off at the hose and left the regs on. not smart but no harm done . so heres the fun part there are a pair of jail friends nice rollers gone and also his $350 aura goggles. so friend in jail thought that this guy didnt have his goggles even though the guy admitted to taking the rollers and had nothing else and blamed others. now the guy that moved left town the very next day after moving for a week to go home. so thats most of the story. my problem is this guy was here for a year plus and i personaly liked him and thought he gave glass a good name he seems to work his ass off. but after all of this he said i said you said bullshit there is still no goggles and if this guy didnt take them why is he not calling the shop to talk about it. i think he still has a key and all of my shit is at that shop so should i worry i dont know. the main reason i wrote this is so this dude might see it and call if he has nothing to worry about then he can call and talk other wise my opinion of you is that your dirt and the disrespect that you have shown will come back to you ten fold kinda like a curse and because of your karmic blunder this will ultimatly affect everthing you do in the world of glass and you can count on that.

I wish this was an uncommon thing. Seems like every studio experiences some shadiness from time to time. Change the locks, your livelihood is in there.

Dude change the locks . You are a good person and so is the owner of the studio . You guys don't deserve some asshole giving you guys extra stress .I think it is messed up that the owner of the shop gave him a place to work for over a year and that punk kid turned around and pulled this shit .

Wait... you folks have "shady" lampworkers where you live too?? I thought that was just a Burque thing... Sorry to hear you had to go through that shit bro. People willing to "manage" other lampworkers are a rare breed so it sucks when your kind heart gets shatted on. Change the locks and try not to beat that fucker down...

Re-key your locks, then you can sleep @ night, I did it and I sleep well.

the lock change sounds unavoidable, and if there's no change within a couple weeks, names would be good to spill.
it might not stop someone else from letting him into their shop, but it might keep him from getting trust/key privvy in the future.
cutting the lines is just dumb, possibly dangerous. aren't the female's the shop's?
shady shit always happens, and everyone always has their side of the story. =(

Just out of curiosity, what is this person in jail for, not that it matters, I am just wondring personally if a lot of the blowers I hear about being in jail are in there for cannabis offenses ?

hey, I'm the jail friend. those were my glasses. they could be somewhere in northern minnesota or , if the other suspect took them, somewhere in arizona. prolly phoenix area. or maybe right here in colorado. well I dont think I'll ever find out what happened to my goggles, but if I do. I was in lail for 2 and a half months. not for what meer said. whatch out for people, the first suspect was a good friend of mine. the other suspect I hated. so ya never can tell. now I only have didynium glasses to use and my eyes are burnin up, but oh well.

wow, I missed this 5 months ago? heh....
this is probably the most useless thread I have ever seen....
Hey guess what people, someone did something to me too, but I can't tell you who or what or when, just look out because they're shady. take my word for it. If you know who i know then you know who I am talking about - that one glass blower, who is shady, and moves around a lot. Look out for the shady guy!
...seriously... the people who even know who you're talking about probably already know what's up, the rest of us don't know who you're talking about, and if you had any proof that someone stole your glasses there are better things to do with your time than bitch about it here in vague terms.

Oh, ya gotta spill the beans now.....(sorry). I hope you are cured, or rehabilitated or whatever. And I hope you get your eye wear back.
There's jail near here, and a trendy outdoor mall like half a block away, and newly released "detainees" head straight over there to break into cars, beg for change, etc. It's so convenient.
It's also funny to see those people with "scratcher" tattoos just trying to walk around there without the cops following them into every store.
It's like a Habit-trail for criminal hamsters.
