Thank you all so much for the kind words, and thank you for making this the smoothest running AGI to date. As I say every year: we provide the space, and all of you provide the positive energy… and there was plenty of that happening last week.
I’m so happy that everyone enjoyed themselves as much as they did, and Elaine and I got nothing but compliments all week about the event and the improvements... we really appreciate that. We would also like to hear some criticism, because that’s what makes the changes around here.
Again, I am so pleased with how everything unfolded this year: No drama, nut jobs, rain, or serious injuries. Kevin and Nutty (as well as others who kicked in and helped) did a phenomenal job with the food by providing a diversified menu for the carnivores as well as the vegetarians.
AGI ’09 is already being planned, and from the amount of people that said they will be here next year, we might be full already.
At this time the only a few things that I can confirm about next year: First, Carmen Lozar will be one of the demonstrators. Next, the new building that everyone loves so much will not only have improvements on the intake air, but we will be dedicating it to a very good friend of mine who deserves to have a building named after them, and that is (drum roll please)…. Barry Lafler! There will also be a small scale hot shop demonstration by Alex Ubatuba using Lewis Wilson’s Jen-Ken crucible kiln.
I have something to thank each and every one of you as individuals for your contribution to the show, but I would be here all night typing (I type with 2 fingers) so I will give a huge collective “Thank You” to everybody. I hope to see all of you next year, and please use all of the knowledge that you gained here, and keep in touch with all of your new friends… that’s what AGI is all about.
I’ll be posting more after everything is back to normal and I catch up on my backorders.
Much love and respect to all of you : )
