Hi everybody. We have always put off taking payments for AGI until after the 1st of the year for tax purposes, but after speaking with our accountant we found a way to do it another way without any negative tax implications.
With that in mind, we are offering a special where you can ask your family for a Christmas gift that will benefit your glass career… a Golden Ticket to AGI, which will take place from Monday, August 17th through Saturday the 22nd, 2009.
There is plenty of time to put AGI on your Christmas list, weather it is from your family or a gift to yourself. You can take advantage of the early enrollment so you are guaranteed a spot for next year!
Tickets purchased from now through December 15th, 2008 will be $575.00, and after that they will go back to the original price of $600.00.
Please call Elaine at (724) 791-2100 to take advantage of this offer. *Please do not use the PayPal button on our web site… it is set to accept full payment of $600.00.

Sign me up, I will pm you Wonka.
Hey Tom,
Just a thought for planning of future years....is there ever any chance you would do it a wee bit earlier in August? I know there must be others besides us with kids that are in school by that time in August. Just wondering, because that fact alone just takes it off the table, as it coincides with the first week of school.

This is a great idea!
I am just the opposite as I work doing lots of flooring in college apartments being 1 week earler would make it a deff no go for me! I wish it was a week later then I could go every year maybe a alternating system one year 1st week next year last week then we both could catch a AGI kool. Although if I had a stockpile of cash I could miss a weeks work but its not the cash that worries me its losing a customer those college slum lords use my biz year around and somebody could jump on my account if I leave the sceen in early aug.

i would vote for later in september or october....after the labor day weekend marks the end of tourist season here....we lose major financial income (x 2) every year we go to agi....but we still go. you have to make choices.
see, everyone has their own idea of the perfect schedule....
so we just need to let Mr. Wonka pick the dates that work best for him & quit asking for it to be changed. i am sure he has many factors that he has to balance.

Yeah, I guess that came across wrong, then. I wasn't trying to ask for it to be changed, just curious if it will always be that same week or not. No pressure, no worries, no request.
If it were simply a matter of income, work schedule, etc. it would be different. But, like I said, with it being the first week of school, it's something that couldn't even be considered. Kids come first, no matter what. When it comes to that, there really isn't a "choice" to be made.
I'm not trying to impose my idea of the perfect schedule on an event I've never even been able to attend. Just trying to get some insight as to whether it's in the plans to always be that same week or not.

i am sorry kool, i wasn't directing comments at you....just making observations from having seen date input over time. you are so right about kids needs & schedules coming first, i know that firsthand. i had to quit glass for 20 yrs to provide a stable home for mine. my hat is off to anyone who can support their family on glass. actually supporting a family is very hard no matter your source of income. i hope your schedule will allow you to come agi sometime, & i hope mine continues to allow me to go. it would be great to meet you.

Unfortunately no matter what dates we pick, it will be inconvenient for some people. We used to hold it the week of Memorial day, and moved it ahead a week because of school.
Perhaps we will do something different for our 10th anniversary (2010)

No worries, I just wanted to make sure you knew I wasn't trying to be a schmoe (it just comes naturally, ya know?) I think it would be great to meet you too.

For sure, you can't please everybody. I just wanted to find out if it was cemented in that week forever. It sounds like that is not necessarily the case, so maybe we will get a chance to come some year.
Even though I am way out in Cali, my folks live about 4 hours from you. So we had been thinking about flying out, dropping the kids for a visit with Grandma and Grandpa, and driving over.
We had hoped to do that in 2008, but their school moved up the start date. So instead, the kids had a 3 1/2 week visit with my folks earlier in the summer and I flew out to pick them up...just a week before AGI. My timing always seems to be off just a little bit!

Glasscove, closest major airport is in Pittsburgh. AGI is a 2.5 hour drive from there?

Pittsburgh is the closest airport to AGI, which is about 1-1/2 hours south of our facility (we’re further north, close to Interstate 80).
You can rent a vehicle, carpool with others, or contact Airport Orbit (http://www.airportorbit.com) for transportation.
Tom
P.S. – Doug- those were tootsie rolls, not cat poop… sorry for the misunderstanding!
