when making say a stand up shirlock bub with a large bottom bubble for the can, would u have a blowtube on the mouthpiece and flatten can last, off axis? or would you at some point have your blowtube on where the bowl would be, opposite where u are pressing the can, and flatten on axis? looking to make large wide fat bases on some bubs, thanks.

blow a thick squatty bubble to start, then flatten it last. nice and soft flame to get even heat. should do the trick

Flatten last, after everything has been connceted. That way it stands nicley!

good deal, thats how ive done it before, its usually a really mad dash to heat that whole bubble even, off axis.. lots of dancing back and forth and the graphite pad down low...
if you find the axis is bothering you, maybe try bending the blow tube just behind the mouthpiece a little.
