I have a new G.T.T.Kobuki with the marver and a 2 stage foot pedal for sale.I'm looking for a Mirage or a Delta for part of the trade. I would really like a Mirage but the trade as to be in great shape. No dents on the barrel from braking off glass it has to be like new. The torch sells new for $3300 I'll sell it with the foot pedal and the marver for $3600. I may have made 10 marbles on it and used it for 1 week class. It's just to big of a torch for me I'll never use the outside flame. I've talked to one person and he will let me know by the end of the week. I would post some pic's but I don't know how. Dan G

It really amazes me that people are finding the GTT torches to big or to much flame. Guess it depends on what you make but, still dont understand.

I have a Mag and it wasnt enough for me, so I got a Viper. Havent been behind my Mag much since. The Viper (with/double foot petals) has so much range. I go from making rings and pendants, to goblets to vases, from 1" to 6" marbles off this one amazing torch. It gives me every option of flame when I need or want it.

If I had a complaint it would be that I would like it to be 4 or 5 stages and even maybe bigger at very rare occasions.

GTT came out and met the market need with these large torches and I thank them.

Scott

ps its a great deal, what type of petals?

Scott you are right they are the best torches out there . I came back from a great class and wasn't thinking right. I have a great tool just have to figure out all the settings. I am going to keep it if someone could pull this post that would be great. You have a great day and thanks for making me think. Dan G

Dan I'm glad your keeping it, you'll find a need for it... what we make in glass always changes and its better to have to much torch than not enough.

I couldn't live without mine and hope I gave my opinion respectfully.

I second keeping it.

I've had a delta elite for about a year now, and I'm finally getting comfortable with it. I've found flames that are essentially the same size as a phantom, all the way up to (for me anyways) unusably large flames that singe my arm hairs.

I think there's a lot of overly cautious users out there that are afraid to really test the range of their torch. On the big side, no problem, but getting small means bringing those candles down, and I know that's scary at first, thinking you're gonna melt the face off or something.... but really, just keep an eye on the face, and don't let the candles get under 1/" or so, and you can get a lot of smaller flames.

Also, I find that with a foot pedal I can use my lynx inner fire for most of the actual work on a piece, and just flash it with the delta from time to time to keep the area I'm working on hot enough to move when the lynx comes looking for it.

One more thing: Don't neglect the edge of the flame. It may seem like you're wasting oxygen or something to run the big flame and use only the very edge of it, but hey, sometimes that sharp edge of a flame gives you heat where you need it.

Keep rocking the Kubuki, I played with one at AGI and loved it. I was gonna offer you my delta for it, but I think you made the right choice.

its too bad im broke, i would love one. i have a mirage now and would love the versatility of the phantom center for mid sized work. i thought the torch was lynx/phantom/mirage. is that right or is it a delta on the outside ring? i havent found details of it on line yet. oh i just found it, i see its up to delta elite in outer, i dont need that much, just phantom center.
