with the screened in porch his is almost outside and I doubt a hood would help for being out in the open air I would say he is doing ok . I would do a smoke bomb test and see if it is swirlling back but with that kind of set up you can never calculate for wind so short of putting walls or a hood which would have the same flaws as the fan due to wind! He is safer than some and if He only works a few hrs a day not full time I think his exposure is min. Who knows thats the prob with Quasi outdoor set ups.

been goin a few months, i started on a bobocat. many, many bats later i sold it and picked up a lynx. same thing to get the phantom. gotta luv gtt's. somewhere in the middle i had a cc for a minute, great torch, but an oxy hog and had to go.

i usually do 3-4 nights a week, approx 5 hr sessions w/ lot's of saftey breaks. hope to be moving to a shop soon. after the new year, things should settle down a bit at zen glass in st pete. i'm trying for an apprentice spot, but may hafta trade web/graphic work for lessons.

the porch is about 10' x 20', i have three screened walls and a solid wall behind. the patton fan moves a lot of air. i will try the smoke bomb test this weekend. the smoke from my cig butts, gets pulled from across the room. the bench is on locking rollers so i can move when needed. trees and palms in the yard help buffer, but heavy winds from the SW or rain and i usually don't work.

i have the oxy chained in the corner and the propane outside. i use a bbq grill cover for the kiln when it's not being used and it's on rollers, so i can bring inside if the weather get's really bad.

i wanted to make them able to bounce. had to move the fan outside the screen, the first time i fired it up, it was tryin to fly away.

i play disc golf and everyone wants a one hitter. i gave away the fist two batches to friends to get the word out, been gravy since then. we get to play year round and friends tell friends and so on.

also friends with a few of the hshop owners in town, they've already shown interest. when i get better, hopefully they'll take all i can make.

mainly jus tryin to learn and enjoy it, i've had glass on the brain for a while. finally got around to doin somethin about it.
