Heard the bastard laughing afterward. Cool color combo though. And I'd take this over a burn anyday.

For some reason this photo just doesn't look as bad as it did in person. For one you only see the large drops of blood not the little splatter drops. Tiles are 18 x 18 for reference

well, ya left the hangnail of death on the end of it! This does not please the glass gods, and they have merely highlighted your oversight for you. ;)
but i gotta agree, if it's not like, arterial hemorrhaging, i'll take a cut over a burn any day.
inch for inch, burns hurt worse than any other wound, imho.
how bad it get ya?

I had something similar happen to me the other day. I was in the middle of making a piece...I reached back for a 3mm rod, it caught onto something, snapped, and stabbed right into my finger. It didn't hurt bad but it wouldn't stop bleading. POURING blood down my hand while trying to finish this piece. It was pretty epic. I guess the glass gods wanted me to bleed for them.

i prefer the gnarly burns, the blood gets all sticky and all over everything, makes for a pain in the ass. I got way to used to sizzling from welding (and especially air-arcing)

Looks like a nice gash... last week i burnt my hand on a hot piece punty and jumped up cause the pain was so bad forgetting that the 2x4 is only 8 inches above my head and creamed my skull. i wish i had a video of me trying to rotate the hot vessel, burning myself and jumping up and down like a moron with a welt on my head, prolly would of won 10k on AFV...

It was a pretty good gash, but I had got it wrapped and the bleeding stopped before I took the pics. I didn't want to unwrap it to take a pic. Its right at the top joint of my middle finger going from one end to the other. Its making work a bitch, but I'll manage. I really should of got it stitched every time I move my hand at all, I can feel it open.

Duct tape over the finger makes it a little tough to spin glass. Clean it and glue it shut after it stops bleeding. Let it dry and it won't open up when you're working.

or duct tape!

Dude I am officially out of the duct tape band wagon. I taped a punty wound about 2 weeks ago and it workes awesome , tell I had to pull the tape off and it ripped the wound back open.
I was out of super glue in the studio but i have some in the house. Off to glue it up. Thanks for the reminder.
Don't worry B I am totally faithful. I won't show my mangina to anyone but you. :blowkiss:

You cut *yourself*. Riiiiight, not the pizza guy who's been missing for a while now. Mmmmhmmmm....

Heal fast, and next time use your tweezers to snap that tooth.

I tend to flame cut my rod these days. Mainly because the score leaves scuzz and I have to remove it anyway. I also like to have the ends nice and rounded. I tend to have more trouble with the stringer jars. I reach to pull one out and stab myself...

One of the first habits I picked up was to ALWAYS place the hot end farthest away from me. It keeps me from burning myself constantly.

I do too. I love not having to pick the scuzz off my rods. It saves a little time too if you include having to clean the end of a rod before using it

That cut was from the rod actually snapping on me.

Super glue has me up and running with no problem now though.
