I once heard that a sign of a good craftsman is how he fixes his mistakes. So, I thought I'd share some tips to fixing those big mistakes. It's happened to all of us, you go to reheat something and BOOM it breaks in half. What I like to do is to fit them together before you get them glowing. It lines everything up and keeps you from getting this weird spot where your design gets all fucked up. Then I heat it up while turning it away from me. This helps the glass flow back into the crack. I've had pieces where the mouthpiece litterally popped right off and after I fixed it, even my glassblower friends couldn't tell it had been broken. Turning away from you(bottom rotating forward) really does help, try it out. And if anyone else has any tips, please feel free to add them on.

I sell the shards of broken pieces on Ebay lol
Here is a quick funny but true story......When I first started glass blowing , I was enfatuated with turbo colbalt ISO with Gold and silver......as you know turbo pops when not melted in properly.......so some of my pieces were breaking at the mouth piece .....that made for some short ass spoons.....well I sent them off to my younger bro to sell. He sold a real short spoon to a lady. the next day he saw her she had litterly burnt off some Hair off of her eye brow....lol
so when selling small spoons remind the purchaser to tilt their head when hitting
Oh back on subject I like to pin wheel my crack scars

Hahaha. Oh yeah, I forgot the only people who never have cracks are hasslenuts and sepulworld. lol. Good tip Bryan, I'll have to try that. I hate those lines when pieces are stuck together wrong.
