I's time for me to go to a few more years of school. Anny suggestions on schools that offer a MFA in Glass?

I'm down to do some offhand work, but i plan to keep my Focus in Torchwork, and mixed media (glass, ceramics, Metal).

what is your undergrad degree in?>
I would think about going for an MBA or something to balance it all out if your ba is in art

You should think about getting your masters in art education so you can finish up with a teachers license you can use at any point in your life. I did undergrad in art ed. and was glad I did. Besides the fact theres no masters in lampworking I know of.

Blow glass on the side to make money. At a certain point your better off buying more supplies and equipment for your studio than going into dept with student loans. my opinion.

I have my BFA in Ceramics.

Thats a good point Morgan, time to find out who offers a masters program in Art Ed. I want to go to a University in Colorado because I want to pay in State tuition, and I love Colorado.

the only degree program in the states for Flameworking is in Scientific lampwork at Salem Community College in New Jersey.

they have their annual international flameworking conference coming up in a couple weeks here. check it out at www.salemcc.edu/glass/flameworking/index.html

The University of Washington is expanding their glass department to include lampworking. Talk to McElroy about it, he's starting his masters in the fall. Ohio is doing something similar as well.

i won't quote myself since it's clear that i was mentioning the school where the degree program is specific to flamework. that's what they do the whole two years. flamework.

emilio is a needle in a haystack as far as flameworking teachers within a university program go. i'm sure you know you'll have trouble finding anything like he provides pursuing an MFA outside of VCU.

Sorry. The post to which I was referring to has been pulled, most likely because it was f@ckin spam.....

for clarity sake, there was a spam post removed between posts 9 and 10.

...and yes, izzy, it was gibberish. they try to use as many keywords as possible to increase their chances of getting search engine hits. the links were all for world of warcraft gold or some such thing. every once in a while a bogus registration gets inadvertently approved.

thanks for the reports guys!

If I'm not mistaken, it was actually part of the script for Pretty Woman. But I wouldn't know that or anything.....
