Alrite ive used every brand in the last 10 years and never had this problem before. every tube pull i do comes out ok and works fine....but the next day after proper annealing the pieces/parts that i make out of the 1/2 inch edge of the flare cracks or checks. some a few days later which really pisses me off.:mad1:

So basicaly, most things that gets really worked, like end of wigs or the mouthpiece, no matter what color is used, cracks like mofo. this has happened randomely in the last 2 cases of pyrex ive gotten from glasscraft and now i just figured out what the problem is...i thought it might have been the greens getting garaged too much but no. i know glass so its NOT THE BASIC ISSUES.

Doug told me someone is getting his cracked, CLEAR PEICES AND FLARES, tested by corning. giving people heads up cuz ive lost an inline and over 200 bux worth of peices so far.

im really getting frustrated cuz the chinese sux ass, kimax is too stiff and changed ownership and possibly formulas (idk it hasnt been available), schott reduces silvers and over fumes mad and if anything i know is how to light fume, pyrex is having coe or viscosity problems, and simex is way too expensive and too soft for my taste...i guess thats my only option at this point even though i dont like how simex works in my delta...
ahhh i know im freaking out but WTF....i mean WTF!!!!

Stop being so goddamn picky maybe that will help.

Not all schott reduces the silver. I just got a batch that is magic on fume. I wish I had my camera to take a pic of a honeycomb I made the other day. It came out fucking sick.

yea if coe 33 was vegas id agree...but im not rolling the die here to make one good comb. i work 40hrs+ every single week and expect the same consistency. i understand every once in a while problems happen with formulas but thats the whole point of my post.

boro is what it is i guess you gota love it and hate it...and love it again.
i did say i was freaking out!!! i need a vacation...i vent taken any time off in the last 5 years.

im hopeing the new schott is better. did you get the brand new batch i hear about?

oh i should point out the problem is with the corning 44x4 tubes

uuugggghhhhhh!!!!! i put up a post maybe a month, a month and a half ago. it is most likely the clear. my friend bought a case from glasscraft around oct 08 and we could not figure out why all of the pieces were cracking. ater a few glassblowers used it, it came out to be the clear. call glasscraft tell em about it, and contact corning and let them know. i still use kimble. hey farian what mts u in?

I use simax and ust for my big tubes, pyrex for some 15 mil tubes and pyrex and simax rods.

I don't have any problems with the pyrex smaller diameter tubes and 15mm rods. I stay away from the big tubes.

Schott all the way. I did an I/O out bub and encased it in 4 and 10 mil rods to double the thickness, the rods where simax; the lines never went away no matter how much I gathered it, was always these shadow lines in the pc. Schott will melt clear and you will never be able to tell how many pcs. of glass something used to be.

Head...you got those lines because you mixed the two clear brands together.

That effect could be used to your advantage.
