I haven't been torching at all, almost 3 weeks off, longest since I started, but I have some other stuff going on,money is tight & glass isn't selling for me. Got on the torch this weekend & had a blast, felt so good to work a little. My buddy wanted a few things,so I made these for him,a reversal one-hitter,sherlock & a vase. If anyone has tips for the constriction on reversal chillums,I'd appreciate it,I get perfect size bowl holes, but I always disort the pattern where the constriction is?
I'm stoked on the colors on the sherlock even though the piece is a little bit funky, used some secret ingredients & a little silver powder, sick gold flecks all over & cool baby blue,blue/green & goldish colors. I used that carb bridge weld I read about here for the sherly, thanks Dom,looks cool, but I'm, still not sure how to make a perfect saxophone style weld/bend,I always have some extra glass on the bottom of the can,any tips? I'm going to make a heady-ish stand up bubbler next weekend for another friend, can't wait to melt some glass again:chilling:

Do you call them frineds after the first, or second safety break??:D:D

I like the color combo in the vase, keep it up mang!

if you got it bridged up you should be able to get that whole bottom hot and get a nice shape, i did one last week ill put up the pics in a few days..

nice window in the front ,,

Nice full color work. It just looks like your seams need to be lined-up better (lined-up tribals or colors). Welds...: more focused heat with a smaller flame, together with care-full blow tube blowing, will seal up those seams. It also reduces any 'shelving' (overhanging lip) in or out -along the welded connection seams.

Did I just say that?

Thanks guys. Yeah Crip,I guess I could have worked it more, but I like the shape on this & am happy with it. I just can't see how to do the saxophone if I wan't to. Just heat up the extra glass on the bottom of the can a lot & puff it to shape? Anyways, bridges are the sh*t,def. helps a ton,6mm to the carb spot works perfect for sherlocks, step in the right direction for me on welding, before I never used them ,now the past few months I have used them on everything.
Harp,I can usually weld my patterns clean,it got all f*cked up doing the constriction. That is where I'm confused? I tried welding the 2 sections with small holes, but the hole was still too big,so I had to heat & constrict the bowl hole which funkdafied the pattern. Any ideas? My only idea is to make a funky shape one, where the bowl is made seperately & weld the 2 sections with really tiny holes. Maybe this is why a lot of reversal chillums I see have abstract shapes,is it the only way to get the hole small without distorting the pattern?
