Don't know yet... I will need to get pricing on the case, and that will take about a week.
That has some hefty looking elements. Is that a coil? or solid. If you don't mind me asking is there a diff between coils and solid elements. Also I am in the market for a box kiln and would like to know more. Side or top on the elements door ect I guessI can wait for the pics of it! lol

I like everything except for the doors. There should be a second doggy-door on the main doors thats only an inch or two tall. That way you can garage with blow tubes and punty's sticking out and not have the main door cracked open. just my opinion.

It's a solid encased element, doesn't conduct electricity. Very similiar to the elements used in electric stoves and ovens.
The bead annealer has a single top mounted element, the sculptural (box) annealer will have two side elements.

Not a problem!!
Are you talking about the bead annealer? It is very easy to modify the doors to add a punty door.
I can offer it as an option.
I appreciate all the input and ideas that you guys are giving me!

Looks like $1299...
Cool. I have seen ovens for powder coat with those elements. Maybe not the same. Its nice that you offer mod design's. It is a service that will only boost sales.

I've added kiln color options and doggy (punty) door options to the annealer. Similar options will be available on the box kiln.

The bead annealer has a single top mounted element, the sculptural (box) annealer will have two side elements.
So the box will come with only 2 elements on the side, or two on the side in addition too a top element? Top elements are pretty important for slumping and fusing. (Just thinking out loud)
BTW your "Bead Annealer Comparison Chart" has issues. (everything jumbled together)

How hot does the element get? Have you guys tried puting glass in one of the kilns, or do you just heat em up to see how much power they use? Would the unit cost less without the thing that says how much time it's energized the element? Maybe it's just me, but I don't get why you'd want to pay extra money for something that tells you how much money they're saving. It's not like you're gonna change your annealing cycle because you're using a lot of electricity. On top of that, doesn't the thing which tells you how much electricity you're using actually use electricity? Would the kiln be more efficient without this?
was still edittiing:)

The box annealer is going to be 240V, about 9.5 amps.

The box will have 2 side elements only.
Actually, it's the heat for slumping and fusing, not where the elements are located.
I'm aware of the chart problems, not sure what the heck is going on there, but I'm working on it, thanks.

If anything, the meter which tells you how much electricity you're using is using more electricity.....
The elements get to about 2000 F. Yes, when we test the kilns, they are tested with glass in them.
The meter uses .0003 watts, and the cost is about $15.00. Pretty much chump change.

Are you saying the kiln would only cost $15 less without that, or that it only costs you $15? 2000F sounds really hot for an exposed element in such a short kiln.... Have you tried puting glass in the kiln then heating it up? Any problems with slumping?

<eye roll here> me, not you. That's what happens when I try to do two things at the same time. Max temp on the element is 1700, not 2000. Sorry.
Exposed coil heaters get to the exact same temp, or higher, depending on the temp rating of the kiln, for example 2200 F. There's no problem with slumping of glass because the elements are controlled by a controller. The temperature will only get to the set point, no higher. A lot of the excess heat is absorbed by the insulation material (be it brick or fiber board).
Yes, we've put glass in the kiln as it heats up, and no, there is no slumping.
I'm saying that the hour meter is a $15.00 part (our cost). It is not an optional part.

Looks like some nice quality shtuff there Mike. I really like the hour meter. Good luck competing against paragon w/ those prices though. If you want a design for vertical lift doors, I got a great one thats proven, but it'll cost ya :copyright

Say what? We both can't respond in this thread? Where are the rules that say that?
Its not fair I want a alter ego too. I have no opinion on the whole shebang.
But find humor in the fact every one else does.
And mikes new avatar is of a masked caped super hero.
Which subliminally ties in with the whole alter ego theory.

Actually, it's not a new avatar, I've had that one here for at least 3 years. Would you prefer that I switch to Yoda? I use that on several other forums.
