Hey guys, who likes camping? :bouncy: I was considering organizing a group camping trip for us glass freaks, somewhere on the west coast...redwoods maybe. A glass event without torches, just to get together and have some fun, roast some marshmallows, play some games. Late June or July is probably a good time to bet on the weather being rad. Any interest?
You should have one on the north shore of lake superior.. I wont have to fly anywhere then

you're all kidding yourselves. suburban small towns in central massachusetts are where it's @.
yeah, but redwoods... c'mon guys. redwoods ftw and norcal for proximity to the largest number of folks.
or we could just go camp in everybody's state for a week. we'll make a jam band and try to sell each other glass all day.
...oh wait, we already did that one.

Can't make it, but I'd rather do the NW only because then I'd be "in the area" close enough to go drop up and see the color manufacturers. Just sayin'

I doooo!!!! except i live on the other coast. I would love to treck it to the red woods but cash is a bit tight right now and I can't get time away from work. eehhhhh.
We like camping....and the Redwoods are cool....someplace in NorCal seems good for a West Coast thing, it's accessible for a lot of people...but right off the 5 is one of the best kept secrets in Cali...or anywhere, really.

Damn kool, those pics are sweet. I wish that was "my" backyard. Way too flat here in Jersey.
Just to be clear, I didn't take those photos. I pulled them all off the internet, mostly from Wikipedia...Wikimedia, whatever.
Most the photos I have from the 8 1/2 years I lived in Mt. Shasta are on film, so I would have to scan them all. I used to have a ton on my computer but somehow lost them all last year.
I did actually take the photo I use for my avatar, though....here is a slightly bigger version of it and a couple others I found that I shot from my old front porch and scanned several years ago (shitty scanner). They are the only ones I still have on my computer.
Anyway, easy I-5 access and tons to do there...I think it would be a good spot if this trip comes together.

:D HAHA. You're an even bigger pimp than I thought...those are both about 50 feet high.
But...that first one (Middle Falls) is near another set called Lower Falls that is do-able in a kayak. I have a sweet photo somewhere of a guy riding it. It's at least a ten foot drop.

Im too poor to go too far this year, but Wisconsin Dells area would be a great spot for a regional gathering. Wi, Mn, Il, Ia, In, Mi. Plus it would be easy to find a spot for a big group not to mention there's tons to do in the dells. I could probably get six blowers alone up there from Wi. Of course its even more fun to invite your glass illiterate friends too. The more heads the merrier!
