A face, two sidecars, two jars, and a spoon

Like the title says...

I tried out the face sculpting thing and had a ton of fun. I really like the way it came out. I used NS Aurora frit on the surface, the color has a lot of range, from blues to browns to reds, but I kept with the brown for this one. I can't wait for the Degenerate Flameoff, it'll be so cool seeing the styles of people like SALT to Eusheen all in one place!

The sidecars are fun too. I like to take a few sections of this and that and put it together and make a small piece with a lot to look at.

The first jar is cool too. The top and bottom is NS Silver Aqua, basically opaque aqua with silver. It would make a bomb-ass NS tube...

Swampy, your grandson's got a good eye. I got to tell you, the blow-out tech is by far the best way to display striking colors. You don't get the haze lines, just pure color. I have a DAP section that I'm saving for a little something special, I'll post when I put it together.

In particular we both liked the bottom of the can on the middle picture.

Looks similar to old red mahogany, really nice I'd love a piece with all that in it.

So that's how you did it? It's all blown in? Good skills there.

The one you liked is actually Double Amber Purple coiled up. The bottom can in the third picture is a NS Yellow blow out, basically a gather of NS Yellow that I push an indent into, attach a blowtube and puff out.

You're gonna puke when you see how fast and easy Salt sculpts his shit...it's annoyingly ridiculous.

Love to borostix tube pull...you all know they're my favorite...you just can't beat that purple.

Where are the jars and spoon? (found them...that spoon is going to look awesome dirty)

Well Salt certainly won't give you that feeling. He is one of the coolest and most supportive glassblowers I know. I wish I could make it out there...just went to Vegas...can't swing another trip so soon...so sad...two of my Austin boys and a variety of friends competing. Enjoy it...take lots of pictures for those of us who won't be there.
