heres my first work thread and will continue to update everyday with new stuff. this hammer was made with the second successful pull. colors where hycinth.cherry red.blue spruce..in love with pulling tubes cant wait for more glass to come so i can pull till i cant stand anymore.

o yea everything i did was reversed and tried to make the can a tribal but the pattern got moved around while working. o well

thanks to everyones input with helping me get to the point where the pulls are successful. peace:D

o and i finally did a bridge to fix the seal. and wow never going to look back. first time i tried to join the two can/stem it fell n snapped right there. so i fixed it up n threw a bridge on it bamb solid seal. although not the most even. lol

need to start makin more bigger things in one day really need to step my shop time up:D

not too good of lighting but piece looks amazing in the full light. colors used where deep blue/butterscotch frit. love the combo

should of reduced the parts in the stem a little more..it would of made it look a lot better. theres always the next piece. :D

i got 32h then got some borostix wrapped around the whole way and using a 50m to sleeve. doesnt leave much room im hoping the sticks melt down some but i plan to flair the tube out n hope that works :puzzled:

well i got one section out of it..the rest just cracked to hell...idk i thinkin it was air bubbles? cause i saw some when i was working it.
it was an all borostix tube so idk...do you garage a section before working it? doesnt make sense so i doubt it but gonna try again n see whats good.

Honestly, I think for "quick" pulls. The best is to use a blank add color, add clear over the top < 2 coats is best for depth and wieght>. And marver then pull. Been doing a fair amount of these as im getting rid of old color stock and making pc's out of the pulls.

but if thats what you mean i find that to. i like the speed of doing a sleeve. but a cc cant really get that thick of a sleeve so the walls tend to be a lil thinner than i like...but really untill i upgrade i think ima stick to sleeving. rod ecasing makes my face melt and burn like no other.

heres some stuff today..i think it could of been mad air bubbles that was causing the cracking on the first boro stix tube. this one went like butter. the one farthest to the left was the first attempt. the last one on the right the last one of the day.

everything was reversed to begin with. even tho they didnt come out clean. the last one i have no idea where the other termination went but that one is for sure has the cleanest lines.

and the CC will work a thick sleeve, and I do do the rod encas like Krossin was sayin,, get more weight less color, and actually faster for me cuz i dont have to cut color and get it rdy,,

but not as straight nice lines...

i ment to add i finally understand how to get bends without janks in it. it was a lot easier for me to learn on colord tube..you can really see the differences in heat throughout the tube.

havent been posting much recently just been working on some prodo. my lines are getting cleaner and cleaner. now just not to boil out the termination and still get the points cleaner:puzzled:

well the bub attempt went bad. things started to crack here and there..went for a smaller sherly today(dry) and didnt go so hot. heres what ive been up to.

cant seem to get the S..twisting i think too much. still like the looks..and my terminations always seem to have some clear/boil.

heres yesterdays hammer. any tips on bridging?

the first few times i have done a bridge its went ok..these past few times..i will attach the the bridge and a little later the blowpipe will crack or the bridge cracks n pops.some times messing up the whole piece...any tips?

finally some what proud of my sherly spoons. still wanna get that jank out just to make the serlock competly round.

i try to get it all even heat, still dont know why it has "kink" look. want that lil part right where the bowl/stem are to be smooth flowing
any tips on that part?

In my experience (very limited lol) if you start out with a long thin piece of tube pulll, then iwg wag the shit out of it, when you condense it into an R-ball it should get very tight while also providing heavy walls for your finished r-ball

well good new the shop liked my stuff..bad new i cant stop beating my self up for it is that..TOOK A MAD pay cut. unbelivable. dude trys to tell me that the "commision" he makes of imports is 50%. so thats what we did mine at. unbeliveable to me. well if they sell those will be the last ones at 50%.

after you do the sherly bend. bridge from where the carb is going to go to the blow tube with some 3-4 mill. then you can heat the bend up real could puff it out a little and let it sag down to the shape you want.

lurch -- yea..i was typing when i was not clear headed..they are not doing "commision" but consignment..after talking to firekist(which real helpful dude) he said no reason to try to compete with import..my pieces are marked 22$..for a full blowin honey comb front..if it sells i only end with 11$.

kindglass - i have heard of people doing that. but it seems kinda of a hassle to bridge just a sherly spoon( unless you really wanted a sagging out shape.) but i kept tryin and they seem to be coming out without the major kink..i sometimes like the droop to be flat cause then the bowl can sit upright.

sativa - i did try a thinner section and the line work came out real clean..then i reversed it and the reversed termination came sloppy so it went down hill. definitly helped to make the line work tighter with the thinner section.

lookin good man ,, when ya bridge, make sure you completely melt in the bridge at both spots, then re heat your piece and go for it, ,any bridge i dont melt in cracks off,, sometimes they just crack too,, GJ GJ

and bridging is really fast if ya just do the triangle bridge,, ^ like that hook to either end then bend in middle melt off an on to other section.. gives you lots of room to work -- or just straight if ya just need to smooth out a weld..

crip..yea thats how i have been doing it..but not melting the bridge in completly..i have to snap some pics of the hammer i made today..no bridge and the seal came out pretty smooth(for havnt been doing to many big seals)...i do like the bridge but sometimes seems easier sometimes without.

ras--i have stepped my game up:D just been slackin in the pics..i dont like to snap pics of my "prodo" stuff out of lazyness but need to get some up here for pricing opinions.

heres the hammer i made yesterday. and some prodo.
(tried to melt the dots even-er. but kept boiling..white is nice its just super touchy and i was rushing..didnt want this one to crack)

that last hammer shows a lot of progress, imo. that seal looks way way better than any others.
for the "spoon sherly" gather more of your glass into the bend, and way less into the mouthpiece. i still tend to put too much glass in the mouthpiece part, if i'm too busy watching belliot screw up. (<3) just having some more glass there will help. maybe think of a corn dog while doing them next time.. or an ice cream cone.. heh

you should be able to get 12-25 on the spoons in the last case...not sure what's on the faces of some of those.. and as long as there's nothing wrong we can't see.(holes, bad magnifiers)
color on blowins help sell.. usually green goes before the blue/gray color spectrum. try more gold less reduction.

should of takin a straight on shot..forgot to. its lined up pretty good..and i havent been using bridges surprisingly with these it seem easier for me just to go in a bang out the seal and work it so it doesnt move around on me to much..instead of having to worry bout a bridge..idk kinda seems backwards in my mind. a bridge for me workd once and every other time i had epic fails trying to get the dam thing to not pop off but stay on etc..


dont really know what to make today...been having an uphill battle torch block. a lot of time staring at nothing trying to figure what to make.

naw no frit. actually never made a frit bowl..everything thats full colord is calld a blowin.
learnd the tech from this website. and havent stoppd sense. you get some really sick colors/changing colors out of the tech.

well i went to 3 shops with my case..talkd to two owners they liked my stuff..but one guy was lower on money and told me to work on my shaping a little bit. along with making the mouths better(this is a heady store.so i just went in on a whim)..but they are opening a studio and going to try to work out of there once its done..hopefuly

the other store. he said theres no way i can take them at that price. and told me..he has a blower working for him in the basement..he was telling me the prices and i was SHOCKD..full wigwagd spoons for 5 - 10!? and so on..selling for 40 - 50. along with everything else..so that was kinda of a let down.
third shop not interested owner wasnt there.

now i know what i need to work on so hopefully sooner than later get to selling..also got to work on my tube work a lot more.

i have been thinking about it. and going to take a step back from prodo for a little and focus on prodo beads..just lil dichro or simple implosions..i wish i would of snappd a pic of this pendent i made. it was wavy..and the dichro was a very nice red. got to make more of those.

been gone for awhile but back on the torch. stoppd piping/barley working for about 2weeks maybe and made some of my biggest vortex marbs yet. gotta get pics but with the shitty cell phone camera they dont even look that clear.

got motivated and tried a ash catcher and it came out great. the male part was way long and bent at a wrong angle in the pic. now its bent at a more of a 90degree angle. very happy with the it. time to be back on the torch.
