"Pearls Befor Squid"
3'x4' weighs at least 60lbs

Mosaic collab with my dad, who has been doing ceramics since the 70s. He has many other insane mosaics but this one we made specifically for my house.

I have been requesting a squid for a while, and helped by making the eyeballs and donating lots of glass scraps from around the studio. shells, old jewelry from a deceised relative, and even parts of my old JBD bong, all are incorperated, making this peice more personal to me.

That is a really cool piece and I am sure you will have to say.

Thanks for your appreciation and offers to buy but due to the sentimental value its not for sale.

and then the next ? will be can they commission one in the same style.

I have a few galleys in my area that would froth all over that.

I really like that. So some of the other pieces of the mosaic are what he's made from ceramic? Is it set into something or...?

I effin love this. Way more involved than the one my mom made. My mom raided my scrap drawer for her mosaics...such an awesome idea. I love to see my left overs put to good use. All those tiny little pieces of magic that are too small to be worth a flip in a pipe. Is your dad single?:dieslaugh

Thank you!! i dont usually post this much, but this was very different and I wanted to share.

The peice is all done by setting the tiles and findings in place with mortar and grout the same as tiles for a kitchen would be. This is really a smaller less intricate one hes done.

Amazingly, hes NEVER sold a peice. they all just decorate their house.

attaching one or two more peices....

I dig the mixed media styles.
I really like art where every time you look at it you see something different.

Have you guys thought of an evolutionary type piece?
Something like a flower growing or a tadpole turning into a frog?
Maybe section it out like a story board.

Just a thought.

Love the garden especially, but its all very nice. You should do a video tour of the house, judging by the garden I bet it would be fantastic.
