That's right, 9 years! :D

Every year we have a huge online birthday party where we give away raffle prizes and raise money for the forum costs. Now is the time where I need to ask if you can donate a prize to the raffle. If you can, post here or PM me, but don't reveal the prizes here...we want to keep those secret for a bit until we announce what we're raffling off at the party. :)

You can donate anything we use in our businesses...tools, glass, money, gift certificates, special discounts, printed materials, ad space, class space, graphic services, website services, etc. And of course glass items are very much appreciated! Anything you make can be donated...sculptures, goblets, jewelry, beads, tutorials, movies, etc.

Keep in mind we have a few out of country members. If they win you need to be willing to ship to them too.

Of course you'll get a rad little flame showing that you are a forum supporter for your donation, and we'll all love you even more! :blowkiss:

I will see... I have to check with my business partners... the family before I can make any decision. I have been having bad luck with shipping lately. Things are getting lost, delayed, and sometimes gifts arive with unusual taxes on them and have to be returned and then there lost on the way here. So it may not be worth it but I like to donate.... thanks for the invite.

there are no guidelines, Aymie. it's whatever you want to donate, and I'll split it up into 3 prizes for people to win, as well as give away prizes during the party. :)

Maybe we could have a gift certificate fund matching program for the prize brackets? Say, if a vendor put up a $25 GC some folks could get together to donate an extra $25 to bump that GC up to fifty or something? That way the pot is sweetened a little bit more. Not sure if this would even work, just throwing the idea out there.

Hey guys, got all of you who emailed me over the night on my list. Thanks so much! This is shaping up nicely so far. I'll be making a new thread with more details and dates and such soon, I'll post the link in here to it.

I have to change one thing, sorry to do this but i realized that last year we ruled pipes out since we sell raffle tickets, we don't want it to come across as we are selling pipes which of course we're not. So the ones that have been donated and promised already are going to be part of the prizes at the party, which are purely given away from the games that we have during the party. that should cover everyone. :) So if you want to donate a pipe keep in mind it won't go to the 3 main prizes but will be given away for a game. i'm sure a ton of members here would love to have them as prizes. :)

I've just hit my first full yr of glass destroying and while doing my daily perusing of these hallowed threads Monday morning, it really hit me as to where I'd be at this stage if not for the Forum. No amount of videos or U-Tube files could compare to the experience gained by following a thread on blow tube vs points or rod implosion vs tube, etc. I'm truley grateful to have this resource available to me. You don't see me post often on techniques as my skills are so bad it should be against the law to pass them to anybody. Hopefully , this too will pass. In lieu of skills of value, I can only offer $$, in the hopes ,and thanks, that this site will thrive for yrs to come. I put my money where my mouth is and implore anyone in similar straights as mine to do the same.I was amazed to see there are 7361 members listed. I know not all are still active , but I'm sure there's a thousand lurkers like myself that could and should kick in with $10,$20 or more apiece. We may not be able to offer a technique, but we can help keep this site strong and available to anyone who needs it.
Having followed the latest Glassfairy saga, I've learned to make a point and bow out. Please give some thought to what you've gotten from the site and give what you can in return. It's a question of balance, give what you take. You'll sleep better for it.

I was going to make a nice prize but all my time is on orders right now! Thankful to the forum for getting me where I am today. So instead of Playing the raffle with my multi ticket strategy.

I am going to donate a 50 dollar gift card from generations glass.

That way I send a little biz to KT and give Mish the option of using it to bump a prize pack or use it in one of the games.

I bought three five packs of tickets last year and picked most of them to go into the prize pack I liked. The numbers and chances of winning due to the in house nature of this forum and the economy make this THE BEST GLASS RAFFLE period.

Could do the tickets like this, let people buy in over a week or two via paypal, on the party date put ticket holder names and prize giver names in separate hats. Pull 1 ticket name and 1 prizer name, make a thread in the events section where you can post the winners and their prizes.

Say everyone can buy up to 5 tix, $10 a piece? (or whatever you think is best)


Could even keep the prizes secret till they get mailed, just post who wins a prize from who. Then we get entertained over the week seeing who got mailed what. Sound cool?

Last year's raffle was wicked cool snake. The lay out and ticket system was so much a ticket and if you bought so many you get a free one.

The cool thing about it was the no limit on tickets. When you put a limit on tickets you limit the amount of money the forum gets.

Although If i was playing this year instead of donating you would have to watch out!

Just the party alone is worth a 5 dollar entry fee. LOL
