no nothing to do with it not being on gp. i just found that part odd that they would advertise it on ga and not gp.

its just shady in the sense of utilizing cheap labor that they found in china. the product seems ok and the tallent of the blowers isnt lacking i just hate to see this type of business pratices. which drives our prices way down. guess i just have a chip on my shoulder cuz i was im my favorite disc golf store recently and its a total alternative store, they sell bats, pendants and jars, not really any pipes but i asked them about takeing a look at my work and they showed me thier catalog where they get stuff for what it cost me to make it. the only thing they wanted to see was stuff that was way nicer than what they have in the catalog, but they were not willing to drop more than 12$ on anything (pendat jar etc) it just burns me because i have spent alot of time and money to obtain the level of tallent that i am at and i am happy with my progression and dont plan on stopping that progression. just hurts not being able to get it out there because i cant compete with the prices

i know its a useless post but the main reason i posted it is cuz i found it odd that it was on GA and not GP

Personally, I don't let the import thing get to me anymore. It is a big part of the industry for us and almost every other out there.

I found that letting it bother me did me no good, and using it as motivation to stay proactive has done nothing but help my business and kept me innovative enough to be proud of what I am doing that may be a little different than the majority. That difference including the things and promotions I use in running my business and building relationships with my customers. China (or any other exporting country) does not have a personal relationship with a retail customer.

Glass is a business, imports are part of the equation and that is all. I honestly think, that if people would stop running their "business" like a hobby, and run it like a real business, they would find there is a place in the market for imports and would focus their attention on more productive activities other than complaining about imports. They are not going away for us, automobile manufactures, shoe manufactures, raw glass manufactures (ironic?) or any other commodity for that matter, no matter how much we complain. The reason is, there is a demand for their product in this country.

Truly, I think what it has done for this industry is a good thing. If it remained as easy as walking into a shop with a shoe box full of someones first months janky junk and selling it, this industry would be hurting real fast. Granted, you will always have the inexperienced in any industry, but making it so easy for them, only hurts the market worse than imports! Because now it was someone who is developing a personal relationship with the customer that completely devalued the product for anyone selling the like.

We are living in the day of global economy, this is huge for us, yet so many complain about it. We can just as easily export products and goods to China (or any other country except Cuba), but we have to provide something they have a demand for, at a cheaper price than they can manufacture it themselves. The only reason we even have imported goods is because people buy them, if they did not, we would not have them because they would not profit, so the "problem" is here in America, not in China (or any other exporting country).

This is not a personal attack on any individual, I just felt like ranting for a sec since a lot of people seem to pull the "import problem" card, when THIS (www.talkglass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26820)happens every day.

No offense meant to anyone, these are just the facts as I see them.

good points frankie

i was just really annoyed that the store i went to doesnt really care what they carry as long as its cheap. i know the area real well and i know that a higher end product would sell just fine but they wouldnt be able to get thier 500+ % mark up.

If that's the case I'm a follower as well, any you may very well also be. All I see is a whole lot of mis-directed anger, it's our politicians that sold us out.

True that. A very small percentage were kind of done nicely though, or at least had nice color combos. No yellow though!

Boo hoo. I am getting sold out by the politicians and world government.

I better bash china glass to make up for all the time I wasted last week eating chips and writing short novels on forums about it rather than making some extra cash or pushing my personal boundaries.

Face the facts folks a 15 min iso piece with crappy colors and happy accidents free of charge for 20 bucks is over and has been for a long time.
