Among other things, Abe from Northstar will be coming out and doing some live crucible color tube pulls and DJ Diverse will be throwing down a nasty set.
Event Profile:
This year’s event will be a two day glassblowing collaboration to raise money for a non-profit children’s foundation here in Colorado called Learning Landscapes, held on July 17th and 18th. This event will generate a positive, professional environment where glass artists can contribute to large scale structured collaboration with all proceeds going towards a Colorado children’s Charity.
The event will also provide a space for our sponsors, glass artists and other attendants to establish new connections as well as expand on existing relationships.
Over the two days, glass artists will be working on a series of large scale masks. There will be 3 structured stations set up to provide an opportunity for the 60-100 attending glassblowers to be involved on a smaller scale.
All proceeds from the final glass installation, a silent auction, and supplemental donations will go towards Learning Landscapes, a non-profit children's foundation here in Colorado.
The supplementary donations will be collected through our website and at both days of the event. The silent auction will be for various glassblowing tools, supplies and equipment donated by our sponsors. There will also be free sample products supplied by our sponsors.
We will have representatives from Learning Landscapes present during the second day to see the glassblowers in action, as well as let the glassblowers interact with the foundation they are working towards. Our projected total amount raised for the charity is between $8,000 and $15,000.
Mission Statement
The core mission of The Colorado Project is to create an environment that will promote and build a culture among Colorado glass artists through philanthropic projects and events. The Colorado Project is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization.
