now that the shop burned down ( http://www.talkglass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26905 ), 3 of those are sent to repair, and they say, I HAVE TO PAY For the repair.... considering those tank are worth about 3000$ brand new... i wont be able to pay a fuckin 5~+ K$ bills..

Read the contract you signed when you first got your dewars to determine your liability.

Your renters/business insurance should cover the cost. Call your insurance company.

I do, its actually covered under hobby and each item in the shop has been listed that cost over $1,500. Under $1,500 they just take your word. It is an addition to my homeowners insurance. It was only like an extra $100 a year or so on top of my house insurance. Well worth the $$ for that piece of mind.

Yep I keep a contractors liability. It covers my tools in the van for flooring my tools in the shop for glass. Then I get renters insurance so I am kinda double up. Technically my old lady owns the shop and I am the tenant. I have had a few different polices thew the years and they are a must. Think about it what if a friend slipped on a rod and falls face first into a full scap tub!

Its morbid but does happen things happen I am sorry loic your lose was mega. Insurance never covers everything if you are not double or triple covered in overlaping polices. What I mean is the renters insurance takes care of things. But once I load my truck for a show the renters does nothing. My contractors covers the tools in the truck at that point and the stock is out to dry as I can't afford any more insurance. I get a package with all the cars, house, shop, renters, ect from one agent he shops my companies every year my best advice is get a good independant insurance man that is not tied to the big companys.

peace and good luck re-building its like the old timers say dust your self off and get ready for another ride .

I also have home and business insurance. There are way too many thieves and mishaps for me to not insure my business. Oh yea, and I pay less than $300 a year for business insurance, and it covers me up to $70,000 in lost tools, equipment ans such.

Loic, Really sorry to hear about your shop. The next one will be bigger and better I'm sure.

got both, but it still doesn't cover everything.

unless you listed those as property on your insurance, i am not sure they would cover it. i know mine wanted a very detailed list, and when i get new stuff or sell old stuff i call them to update it....i really need to do that now in fact, i've been putting it off.

read your contract, and if you don't have it anymore, talk to some locals and see if they have theirs. if it's not listed in the contract somehow you are not responsible.

again...hugs. you're going to get through this.
