Thanks for posting this up daddio!

This event is going to be huge, built by the community, for the community. All proceeds will go towards building a a playground or similar here in Denver Public Schools!!!

We are accepting donations in the form of functional glass, artistic glass, or tools/prep. All of these items will be auctioned off with proceeds going towards our final charitable donation! We will also be putting together a massive wall installation, strategically involving all who attend!

Please email us at info@thecoloradoproject.com to sign up or donate. Every bit helps. You can also sign up through the site!

Glasscraft will offer free 2009 club memberships to anyone attending on Saturday. Abe from Northstar will be pulling white tube Saturday live to be sold at a ridiculously low price

oh and did I mention, FREE BEER!

See you there!!!!

I love you, Aymie!!

Just to let everyone coming in from out of town know, we have set up a group rate at the Ramada Downtown for $61 per night. There's a lounge and a pool, and the rooms are pretty nice. Not to mention this is the closest hotel to Friday night's event. The group deal is under "winters" and the phone number is 303-433-6677.

Hope to see you there!

January 2010

Join us for our Next Mini-Event
Each month we are hosting a mini-glass blowing event at various Colorado glass studios. The next gathering will be on January 16th at 5th Dimension studio - 2138 Marion St, Denver 80205. The event will start @ 6pm. This event will be sponsored by Allan White from Smoke Signals. Materials will be provided by Glasscraft and Northstar Color.

Bring your glasses, and ColoradoProject Donations outlined below.

Welcome to 2010!!
The Colorado Project staff has been gearing up for our July 2010 event, and everything is coming together! The dates of this year’s event will be July 15-17th. We are currently inquiring about who would like to help out this year. If you want to get involved in one of the most successful glass art events of the year, send us an email. Here is what we are looking for:

Committee members-
The Colorado Project is an event for the community and we are looking to get volunteers on board. If you can lend a hand in any of the following areas, please send an Email and specify which area you would be interested in helping with.

Food and beverage
Music
Guest artist logistics
Lampworking Studio logistics
Off-hand studio logistics
Donations
Marketing
Public Relations
Video
Photography
Sponsorships
Silent Auction

Installation Help -
We are beginning the initial planning and design for this summer’s large scale collaboration. This year we are creating a large scale chandelier made up of several hundred glass components. We are working with Randal Secrest, an architectural artist out of Colorado Springs. He will be helping us design and build the frame for the installation. We have the material, manpower, and positive energy to create something amazing, and raise a significant amount of money in the process for charity. Every glass artist that attends the event will be able to contribute to the installation. However, if you would like to devote a significant amount of time in creating some of the larger glass elements of the installation prior to the July event, please email us by February 14, 2010 at info@thecoloradoproject.com. We are also looking for a reliable welder or metal artist to help fabricate the framework.

Glass Donations -
We are now collecting glass art to help raise proceeds for the event and for our charity. We will be having a silent auction this summer for both functional and non-functional art. Please bring donations to any upcoming mini-event or ship donations to:
The Colorado Project
1681 S. Garland St
Lakewood, CO 80232

Tool Donations-
We are starting to build a Colorado Project mobile tool kit for everyone to use at our mini-events. If you have any tools or studio items you don’t use or need, they would make a great donation to the Project. For more info and a complete mini-event calendar, please email info@thecoloradoproject.com

The Colorado Project is a 501(c)3 organization. All donations are tax deductible.

where did out of towners typically stay for these get-togethers? trying to make plans for the summer one... round trip flight (boston to denver) is about 300$ which isn't too bad. not sure how much to stay would add up to though

Hotels, couches, and floors mostly.

Last I heard, the CP was still looking for a shop/venue large enough for the july event this year. Once a spot is secured, I'm sure they'll post the location so the out-of-towners can start booking hotels.

I wouldn't miss this event! It is going to be EPIC!

Already the Colorado Project crew is working hard in the planning and logistics of this event and once the big event's location is unveiled there will be plenty of information regarding hotels, camps, couches, cribs, basements, dungeons, trees houses, gondolas, caves, yurts, vans, and where ever else you can nep between the non-stop action!

nice to know.. i was mostly curious b/c i figured if i booked a flight / hotel now (especially together as 1 deal) i assumed it'd be cheaper. maybe i should just book the flight at least for now, wait till later for the hotel plans

Signed up on the link too, thanks scooter!
