He's got Big Balls!

Here are some larger marbles that I made over the last week or two. The biggest one is 4.5" and weighs in at 4lbs 6oz! 4 inches doesn't sound like much really, but it took 4 feet of 1" solid clear rod just to make the lens! The dichro galaxys are nothing too special these days either, but they were fast and easy for this project. Now that I've got the swing of things, I'll have to push my limits on designs.

Kaj Beck and Mike Nelson returned to my shop last weekend for some large collab marbles as well - you might have caught some of the web cast. Those marbles and the stand Mike was working on will be posted soon. The stand still needs a few finishing touches.

We had two mags running off that liquid tank while Kaj and Mike Nelson were down; one on a lathe to gather clear, and the other on a standing bench with a nice set of rollers :D. My arms/wrists/hands actually felt better than if I had been hand-spinning 2-inchers all day, if that says anything. I was feeling much hotter though...heh.
