hiyas,
thanks for the nice comments about my marbles, I really don't consider myself a professional marble maker as I don't often make them for income. I make the occasional one for fun and this run was the first substantial run I have made. Over the last few years we've been making glass parts for the car industry (which has basically supported the art side of the business), even employed people ... because of what happened to the auto industry, this job has slowed to a trickle, and finally a few months ago come to a standstill ... now we're Au$60k out of pocket this year. We've been desperately trying to make up for this in other ways, and while it's been good in the way of being able to make more art related work, it's hard times till the economy picks up again. So this run of marbles is a punt on supplementing our income. To be honest, though, I've really enjoyed making these.

Below is more indicative of the kind of work we're usually engaged in making, fresh from the kiln yesterday.
This piece is called "Belladonna and the Mandragora"

Just curious, did you make the bell and stand too?

hi Menty,
my partner is a caster and pate de verre artist and after first making a wax form to suit the bell, she cast the base from lead crystal. The bell she found in a shop around the corner and it comes from an old taxidermy display of some sort.
