botched marble that I flatten out and stuck on a walking stick I made. placed a tag on it as "the compass to the galaxy" with a price tag of "Priceless" . Sadly I was hoping to play with it some but it sold immediately. stick was made from Maple burl and Black Walnut.

Are those good strong, yet flexi woods to use for a stick lof that type, Its very nice.

It reminds me of the game "Myst"

canes/ walking sticks are a accident waiting to happen, though this is very well made. the shaft is splined and wedge in to the top burl with square pegs that hold it fast. traditional woodworking technique that has been used in chair making for centuries. for the collector, a opera cane not for those that depend on constant support. I make this very clear to the customers when I make them. .

Very nice! Love the "compass to the galaxy" idea, too :D

Gotta say though, I was expecting to see an insect when I opened this page :o:

Very nice, love that wood work. Nice job on the glass to wood connection too, it's got flow.

Gorgeous!

the tips is a 1/2" copper coupler with a insert of rubber from cattle mats. stuff is hardcore and takes the wear. the coupler has a nice small crown logo to boot. just a nice easy and classy way to finish the piece.
