This year Thomas Grimmett of Glass Alchemy, Ltd. and Mike Shelbo, the Glass Alchemy 2009 sponsored artist, will be attending AGI and will teach a series of classes that will explore the world of Glass Alchemy Boromax® frit and the new Tailor Made™ Tube.
Exploring Frit
In the Exploring Frit class, Mike Shelbo will make one of his famous goblins out of Glass Alchemy Boromax® frit. Mike will explore the five different frit grades Glass Alchemy offers and discuss their application. Thomas will be on hand to discuss the chemical properties of the color. If you have ever wondered why the Fine, 82 grade frit doesn't strike like the Medium, 38 grade frit, then this is a class for you.
Exploring Tailor Made™ Tube
In the Exploring Tailor Made™ Tube class, Thomas and Mike will walk students through different working techniques. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and explore the working characteristics of the Tailor Made™ Tube.
