I've been thinking about starting this thread for a while, and ITIS' post reminded me...so here goes. This thread is dedicated to cool stuff to listen to while working which is NOT music.

To get us started, here is some stuff I've enjoyed:

Fiction:
Water for Elephants, by Sara Gruen <---fascinating story of a young vet student, a circus elephant, a psychotic circus boss and his lovely wife

Nonfiction:
Scar Tissue, Anthony Kiedis (autobiography) <---great story, but completely inappropriate for the under-18 crowd

Comfortable with Uncertainty: 108 Teachings on Cultivating Fearlessness and Compassion, Pema Chodron <---bite-sized nuggets of Buddhist wisdom, really good

pretty much ANYTHING by Caroline Myss - I've listened to the first two a few times, and really enjoyed them.

I must have heard the words "freedom" and "liberty" at least 200 times in the hour and a half I left the program on.
