Well I finally have a nice living room setup out here. Old timers please keep an eye out for my post. Lots of questions about my kiln and vent setup. Also my pedal just went out :( . Anyone out there that can help me replace my solenoid?

Good to see you back Dave! Who made your pedal?

The pedal looks homemade but i could be wrong. I got it from a bunch of hippies that sold it to a head shop. I was lucky to purchase there cc,foot pedal, hand tools, and lathe burner for about 15 iso spoons. My pics didnt turn out so good. Something wrong with my sony cam . Not sure where to take it to get fixed out here.

If your pedal went out while installing it, it would be a good idea to visually inspect it so you know everything is connected before you buy any new parts. A wire could have easily been pulled off one of the solenoids, and if that's the case, connecting it would be a pretty easy fix.......

nope not a wire burnt out while using it. the solenoid has been buzzing since the states. Got to hot and stopped working. Oxy side still works.

heh.. i thought your weight bench was a lathe at first.. that bar kinda looks like glass

pretty sure you know your setup is pretty ghetto.. but.. what the hell, right?
some kinda hood above your fan would be a GREAT idea to capture the heat upblast from the torch. .. seriously

hope you're not blowing on carpet as well!

The drapes will be the first thing to go up in flames, Unless there Kevlar.

hahaha i could see those drapes being a bitch to pull down while on fire.

someone else on here said look to see where a marble could roll, like behind the torch or into a place we cant see, how you would be chasing it down vs sweet spots that cause a fire. for example....

I had a marble roll behind my bench into a mouse nest that was bone dry. bucket of water did the trick but if i didnt have the water in my scrap bucket i might have been screwed, 30 seconds is it.

you could have the kiln on a smaller table, behind you or to one side or another at table level

yes the drapes could be a problem. I mostly move them off to the side when im working. Didn't really think about it.

No seth no carpet.

Walls are cinder block, ground is marble. They don't use carpet out here.

The kiln is a turd but the only thing I could find out here being under 2 grand( as soon as they see the white face they think money). Burn out kiln. The Controler is wacked. Ill post pics of it later.

Took me 2 years to track down a factory that would sell me glass inside china.Guess export only. I am still happy I finally got set-up.

Kinda sad to see you guys piss on my parade but I guess that's just how things are now days.:notamused I am going to go cry in the corner now.

But still its good to be back. I have seen some ass backwards glass blowing out here. Seems now I am falling into the same category as them.:D

Just curious, what did you go over there for? Some kind of product supervision? Trade?

I came over here to help a friend open an English school and to learn Chinese. Now that things in the states are going to hell I figure might as well stay and see how things play out here.

Here is a pic of the controller. I cant figure how to run this thing yet. Still leaving flat spots in all my work. Kiln will ramp up to 1200c.

K roots sent a pm.

Wasn't trying to piss on your parade, just would hate to see those drapes go up in flames and you lose your setup all together. Props to you for sticking it out over there and making it work. That controller looks wack and I have no help on that one.
Peace
Nate
