Hello,

I'm writing this here hoping that the forum gods may chance upon it....

I was reading thru the Glass Wiki, and I came across an article about:
Maudy Powell slingback

I'd never heard of it, so I was interested... it turns out to be a complete waste of time! Just some comedian taking up space, if you have the power to edit the wiki, please delete that, so no one else wastes any of their time. :wes:

Thank-you!

Was I too quick to judge? Is there actually a term for just making something quick, called a Maudy Powell slingback? And why is that term the standard? Or could I post a story about how one time I was late for dinner, but my girlfriend was really wanting some, so we did it quickly. Ever since I've called making fast pipes "quickies". (I too could get creative and fill a half page full of useless detail, but I've got better things to do)

I just assumed that someone had disregarded the wiki rules and posted some nonsense. Every other posting under the index looks pretty professional, full of information. I mean, come on, admit it... if you've never heard the term before and you've just read "Visible Light Hazards" and "Nox Hazards to the Glassblower", and then you read the Maudy Powell slingback post you'd think someone was messing around too... Is it a West Coast or East Coast term?

Mate, you're right, I wasted your time.

The story is based on factual information from my childhood days; all the characters are real or rather, were real because that all happened years before your conception and the event actually happened.

I'll delete the story it if it bothers you that much, no worries. Just let me know okay. Again, I'm sorry I wasted your time.

Hey Swampy,

I honestly thought I was just pointing out a joker. Your name wasn't listed on it, if it was I would have kept my mouth shut. You're an invaluable help to many of us on here, I've read many of your postings. You've earned the right to coin a term or two!

I'm going to humbly shut the fuck up now...

Funny. When I read that, I thought to myself, "this sounds like a Swampy story."

Sure enough.
