Hi,
I am a bit of a newby to the flameworking world. I am very interested in the blowing and sculpting on the torch. I currently living in Wiltshire England and finding it incessantly difficult to learn the grounding and techniques I need, as I find the framework is limited in the UK.
Can anyone suggest anything to help me progress. From good reference materials to places to train. I am currently looking at travelling to the US to get some experience. So if anyone has any suggestion that would be fantastic.

Many Thanks

Charlotte

Charlotte, someone local (http://www.bssg.co.uk/Contact.htm)must be able to help you, I've just snipped this from the BSSG facebook page;

The British Society of Scientific Glassblowers (BSSG) welcomes new members that have an interest in all aspects of glass and is a resourceful place for informating as they have a libarary that is available to its members. Although the Societies membership is mainly from the scientific sector, this would be the place to get the infomation about types of glass available and techniques used. Contributions to the Journal can be published and distributed to the membership and also around the world to major Libraries for reference. Why not check out the website and if you wish to jion the BSSG just mention my name (Will Fludgate).

if you're thinking about coming to America may i suggest the month of August.

there are a lot of glass events including AGI (http://www.glass123.com/AGI.html)

which is, in my opinion, a great place to learn tons of things from a large group of artists.
