who feels they have been screwed by revere glass?

i paid to attend a colaboration/demo; bought plane tickets; called revere the day before to ask a question about there town. good thing i did, the class was canceled. i dont believe any attempt was made to inform me about the cancelation. they made no attempt to convince me otherwise when i asked them.

they ducked my calls for weeks when i was trying to get my money back.
they wanted to pay me back with pulled tubing or milli. we finally settled on attending any other class plus time with dustin. i havent gone yet.

i still feel burned.

classes still getting cancelled without notification.

im thinking about calling shenanigans

Revere owes me about $400 on eyewear I mistakenly sold him on open account. Got paid $50 "with more to come next week".

Yeah. Right. Pull the other one.

For me, the worst thing is that I stood up for Dustin when all the shit was going down about him working with Craig Bellanger. So, that's the thanks I get Dustin?

Remember the time I sent back my AURA glasses 3x b/c the first frame was twisted. I gotz the new black rubber pair after the first time but no one made note and they kept sending me back the first pair fixed over and over! Then you called me like "Why do you keep sending me your glasses?" and I was like "I already have my pair. That's your pair!" It takes an honest man to ship back $300 glasses but it takes a really great company to just send a whole new pair before even getting back the bent original. Thanks again!....Erik Johnson

I have only heard good things from people who have taken classes from them, but he should make things right. Sorry to hear that.

i live 2 miles away and ive only heard bad things about him.

it seems that he owes just about everyone money! my buddy fronted dustin a torch and long story short dustin never paid him. so after 6 months he went to his shop and cut the lines and took his torch. half hour later my buddy gets a call from the cops saying dustin just called them saying my buddy stole his torch. needless to say, dustin was told to call the cops off or..... you get the picture.

i knew the dude was a scumbag the first time i met him and i knew everyone here was going to stand up for him because he gets some of the best glass blowers to come teach good classes at his shop.

dustin is a fucking douche and a scammer, obv.

lol... i've heard so many horrible things about dustin as well as strobel who seems to be dustin's partner in fucking people over.

def. heard enough to never take a class there.... a real shame too b/c if it wasn't run by such sketchballs, revereglass would seem like a great place to learn.

I feel cheated also. I won a spot in the Cowboy class and the class is not going to happen. Hopefully I will be able to take the next class.

i dont think so but i could be wrong. didnt seem like glass to me and the marble was glued on for sure.

the guy that bought the pipe with the nug encasement thought that it was all glass and was bummed when i told him it wasnt.

anyone that would sell those letting people think that theyre made out of glass is a scumbag.

Heres a whole forum devoted to threads like this. Im just sayin, less bashing, more glass talk? Im in noway sticking up for Revere, Ive heard good and bad over the years. I was just feeling bad because I NEVER get over to this forum to post anymore and I was trying to remember why. Then I logged in and saw how much hate and Shenannigans were just on the first page. Business wise, No one ever gets satisfaction, just from posting on the internet. If youre really mad at someone, in business, sue them. Its cheap and gets the point across faster.

Sorry, back to the ranting...

I respectfully disagree. I had no idea revere was like this, and a thread like this helps to get the word out to people like me. I am 'out of the loop' when it comes to stuff like this - this forum is my ONLY connection to the art glass world.
That being said, needless bashing isn't necessary - information and personal experiences are.

This wouldnt be a healthy glass community if there wasnt someone under the burner. Everyone knows what kind of thread they are getting into when they read the title :bouncy:

My experience with Revere Glass School is a couple years ago I took a Mickelson workshop and got the dates skewed a little (not my fault). I flew out from Hawaii and missed the first day. It was a $600, 3-day workshop and so I was out $200 for the day. Dustin offered $200 credit to another class, and I declined. I was planning on buying some color while I was there, so I told him I'll take the credit in color rod, and he agreed. No harm done. I missed a day of class, but everyone caught me up pretty quick, and the studio was available for me to work in on the extra day after the workshop, at no charge.

In this situation, Dustin made good. If he hadn't Ben might've made bad. :-)

Since then I've heard good and bad about Revere.

My 2 cents.

I wondered about Revere when they were warned by a few choice members of the glass community about the sketchy business that went down at the FFO in Philly and they were not the slightest bit hesitant to host the next. Birds of a feather you know...I knew someone who won a class there and they snapped the mouth piece off of what she made so it couldn't be sold...or used. There may be a lot more to that story...who knows. It is the straight up lying about the nug plugs that pisses me off. I watched him tell customer after customer in Vegas that they were all glass. He even made that claim to me and another blower. I understand not sharing your secret...but don't lie.

I bet the nug plugs are double blown.

So I was browsing Dustins GP account and saw this: http://www.glassartists.org/Gal19200_Dustin_Revere_s_Glass.asp
The pc on the right looked pretty cool, so I open it and boy it looks like a RAM pc. So............I go to RAMs site and what do I see??? http://www.mickelsenstudios.com/catalog/Lost_In_Dreamland.html

Now correct me if I am wrong (because I may be, and if I am I apologize in advance) but I did not see anywhere that it said this pc is by RAM, and it was listed under Dustins gallery, not the Revere School gallery (was thinking maybe there was a Mickleson class photo set which there was ,but this pc was not pictured)

Just found it interesting.................

only a loser glass blower would do this kind of underhanded shit. like i said a year ago, he is a nonglass blower just trying to make money off of real glass blowers and take advantage of people starting out as glass blowers. a lot of people think if a guy has a sweet shop then he must be a good glass blower and that how dustin has gotten by so far, he sure isnt making money blowing glass.

We saw that exact piece in Santa Fe last Saturday, at Mickelsen's Glass Alliance demo at Liquid Light Glass. Beautiful doesn't cover it. Amazing. Inspiring.

Doesn't Glass Artists have rules about posting other people's pix?

I don't usually add more jet fuel to a fire. But, I've had no dealings with him (Dustin) or his wife who is involved in his business, I know if it were me being talked about I would certianly come and say something, anything.

Correct me but the only shitty thing I remember is his wife putting up a delta elite or a mirage on the board for sale, and asking exactly the price she apparently owed Adam from UST, And I don't think it was to re-pay him back the money she owed him, In fact I remember him asking for the torch and calling it even instead...Maybe Adam has the exact story, I just remember if it was true, that was a shitty business practice, and trying to get top-notch teachers to your studio to teach, whats also funny, I remember a post that someone needed a place to stay during a class, and they offered him the bathroom, which was dirty and full of boxes..more of a storage unit...yuch.

i once booked airfare to a class almost 2 years ago, and it was cancelled. i had to call back to find it out.

on that exquisite RAM piece, at least the photo in the gallery doesnt have the "revereglass" tag on it, the photo is not signed, but is definately in a gallery implying his creation.
