I'm sure the whole show will be repeated at some time. It was titled "Craft in America".

I am pretty sure Stankard originated the term "Original Gangster"

You said it dude. I think scrapbooking was invented solely as a means to seperate overweight middle-aged women from their money.

dude I am so pleased it was called craft in america. I don't think it had anything to do with art. It had to do with good old fashion making things by hand and being proud of where it came from. Its the simple fact that our generation and the ones that have followed have had this importance diminished.
Being 34 I was at the dawn at the computer age.. I learned soldering, circuit boards and programing in leiu of wood working, mechanics, welding. All the stuff the generation before me who wasn't wealthy didn't have a choice but to learn. Metal work and Glass was my first real introduction to what it meant for a product to be made by hand and that just happened in the last 5 years.
Given that its not hard to understand why people are happy buying a machine produced item for 3-10x's less then a hand made one. The only exposure they are given these days they have to pay for. Now with things like shop being taking out of public schools its only going to get worse.
Back to the point the term "art" is easily confused with something a teenager may due while hes not listening to his teacher. The term "craft" is more synomonous with "career" or "trade". Something passed down from one generation to the next , requiring a great deal of time to learn.
