Ok so I plan on renting a room for the week at the Emlenton this time instead of staying in a tent.
All the rooms have like two queen beds in them and I only need one so I was wondering if there is anyone who would be interested in splitting the room for that week. Don't really care if your a dude or a girl, I'm just trying to save some money.
I just figured I would go ahead and get this out of the way so I wont have to worry about it so let me know if your interested.....

Chuckling facepalm....:)
Man I love this place, anywhere else I'd expect to have rotten garbage (or worse) thrown at me for that. Instead I get Rep.
Sorry for sidetracking your thread!

Haha loving the puns!!
I agree with Moch though. If you don't sleep in a tent at AGI, that's pretty weak!
I mean, come on! Who doesn't like to sit and watch demos, torch all day and then sleep on the ground? Probably the three best things for our backs!
Besides, you never know what kind of shenanigans are happening when you leave!
Maybe those who don't stay in tents should be identified some how.... Maybe a different colored badge on here and a bright colored shirt at AGI.... or something!
I just feel like they're not equals!
Just kidding!
But seriously, tents are the way to go!

Lol, I stayed in a tent last year and although it was terribly fun I would really like to be clean(er) this year. I like having a decent shower and bathroom. I'm kinda ocd about being clean. Plus AC is amazing. But depending on the money situation I may end up considering the tent thing again.....

Are you sure glassblowing is for you? This just seems like a very out of the ordinary comment to hear from a glassblower.
With that being said, I'm exactly the same way, and can empathize completely.

Yea I'm pretty positive I'm a glassblower. I'm totally addicted to it but I still like to keep clean. I like to try to keep my torch space clean too but that doesn't always work out quite as well. I mean I think it's probably a lot easier for guys to go a whole week using port-o-johns than it is for girls. Same thing with the makeshift shower. It's not that I don't like camping, I just like being clean more :)

After a 20-hour day blowing glass, I submit that, while decadent, a hot shower and indoor bed for the precious few minutes of sleep is nonetheless what I'm after :)
And, really, the Emlenton Motor Lodge is only slightly nicer than a good tent...

Ok, I have paid my dues, camped all over Alaska when I was younger. Now I really appreciate a clean room with a shower, a bed that doesn't aggravate my arthritis, and air conditioning. Besides, Emlenton Inn is run by good people. I left my spare glasses in the room when I left, didn't realize it for a month, couldn't figure out where they were. When I called them, they not only still had them, but mailed them to me without asking for postage. Good people!

Yeah, when we pulled in late, the owner hooked us up with some free beer that had been left in rooms by other people since the beer store was closed. Good guy.
