Flame Tree Glass Halloween contest RESULTS?!?!

The winners of the FlameTreeGlass contest seemed a bit odd to me. I swear I've seen the Black Lightning Reaper by Bryan Bucklew somewhere online before months and months ago. I thought this contest was to persue people to make fresh new Halloween stuff. Anyhow isn't one of the contest rules "Just make sure it is entirely flameworked!" That scuplture has styrofoam as the main head....isn't that cheating. How is it that the Glass Golem or the Skull Sword or the Pumkin Tree didn't win instead? The numbers seem odd too. Is it really possible to get 50 some votes a day w/o cheating? Mixing glass with styrofoam isn't going to look tacky in Flametree'z display case.......:shifty:

I don't understand why you can't just be happy for the people who won? This was a contest that was fun to enter and see what happens. If you entered just to win, you entered for the wrong reason.

I am sure the people who won were very excited, and I personally think this thread is very insulting to the people who won.

Art is a personal thing for everyone and we all have our different inspirations, likes and dislikes when it come to what is pleasing to our eye, and carries meaning for us.

All that said, I found it inspiring that you put so much effort and time into your entry, and I thought you did a great job. If you had won, I don't think you would have appreciated a thread like this about your work.

This is not meant to be a personal attack on you. But I do believe these thoughts were better kept between you and your family and friends if this is how you feel.

How could you even cheat in the voting process?? The contest only let you vote once per computer.

winners look fair to me.. just wish i had 'nuff talent to participate... gives me something to look forward to. :)

To see if cheating was involved on voting, they could check the IP addresses of the votes, (some people have access to multiple computers such as a college computer lab, etc) and if the head of that one is styrofoam, it should be DQ'd and everyone else gets bumped up a level.

oh and only me and two other douchebags voted for the pipe! :)
