Maybe all the testers could be sent a paper, outlining the results from specific tests, to be returned to the maker??

Just out of curiosity- is everyone e-mailing their physical address in the hopes of getting free color?

I don't mean to rock the boat here, but in the past many people have been leary of first time posters, and now everybody seems to be jumping on the band wagon in hopes of getting something for nothing :rolleyes

oso rojo- I apologize in advance for being skeptical, but as an administrator it's my job to preserve the integrity of the forum and look out for our members. Would you be able to provide some information about yourself, your product(s), and your company?

This was your first post, and there is nothing at all listed in your profile. There are enough high profile members here that have provided thorough reviews on new products for companies which makes me wonder why a random offer (with no details whatsoever) was put forth.

Again, I apologize if I'm out of line here, and I look forward to your response.

If it seems too good to be true, sometimes it is :ohwell:

Hi everybody, I appreciate the huge response. I want to clear up a couple things to put some poeple at ease. I'm not with a big company and I'm not here to take adavantage of everybody. I don't really use the computer that much. But my friend who frequents this web site made the suggestion earlier today that I make this post in hopes of getting honest feedback on my color. I will be sending out the samples after Thanksgiving. Tom brings up a good point and If anybody feels uncomfortable please let me know. As it stands I have all 20 volunteers. as you can all imagine this is not going to be cheap for me but It's imperative that I get feedback from other people. you can imagine my bias for my own color. For those of you who received an email back from me please feel free to email me any questions about who I am and where I from and how to get a hold of me.

Thank you all again, and hopefully we can have a good discussion in the weeks to come.

I'll vouch for Oso- I talked with him earlier today and is totally on the level. We know some of the same people and its all good.

Where are the ulterior motives behind wanting to send people free glass anyway?

k would be fun

Mr. Wonka

Jeff- It’s not the ulterior motives of giving away free color that I was concerned about… I was just thinking about how people get so freaked out when they get an e-mail from GP.org when someone asks them a question, but yet so many are quick to send personal information to someone with only one post that says (in a nutshell), “send me your address, and I’ll send you a new color”… without saying who they are or anything about their company. I guess it’s all good, so it’s a moot point.

Oso- I gave my apologies in advance, and I wish you well with the new color… we could use a good white to work with :) You should send a sample to Misha and Matt- they do some really thorough and comprehensive reviews.

BTW- I should have posted my concerns from “me” as opposed to “an administrator”. I guess I feel a bit guilty about neglecting my responsibilities on the forum… I’ve been very busy lately and haven’t been around that much.

You're just looking out for everyone Wonka....no worries. It's nice to have some one watching my back when I do dumb ass things and don't think of the consequences.

But I think it is cool that this guy will put up the color for anyone to try instead of the "usual" people. Sometimes it is hard not being "usual" or really well known. *tear* (tee hee)

Crap I wish I had seen this... Is There any more spots left???
I'm one of the tuffest critics of white glass there is. No half way decent or almost good white can pass with me. So if you want to know if this is good white or not. Break me off a pcs of that chunk..
even a small chunk is all I need to test it.
BUT if its good white and I use it and like it. Its got to be something I can buy somewhere. OR else it would just be a tease to me.

No worries Wonka-- I know you're just looking out ---- :) The GP stuff is shady just because of the legalities.

Thanks folks :) It would be tragic to hear people say "I never got any color, but my shop just got robbed"

I'm glad to see that people can vouch for oso, and in the future, do yourself a favor and ask for some credentials before sending your personal info. None of us can afford to lose the tools that we need to keep food on the table.

oso- When is the new white expected to be available to the general public? Also- what other colors can we expect?

I just got my sample, and it looks really sweet. It compares to the parramore white, but I think it is definitely a thicker color. I did some lines of the new white(Trillium), parramore, and star white all next to each other and the trillium was definitely the strongest, thickest one. It melted really smooth, it did boil a teeny tiny bit more than the parramore, but I was really blasting it to see how much it could take. It's nowhere near as bad as the star white. Thanks for the samples Lawrence, I love the color, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what you come out with next!

Can any of this white be purchaced yet? I am starting a new distribution company and we always are looking for good colors. I'd love to check it out, and possibly carry it with our other colors.
