i just did my first rod implosion sable style. came out great, im excited. neways. i was wonder what the key to deep implosion really is. i want less lens and more implode. does the maria marver while melting really make a diff? or is it the outside heating with the droop? i want to post a pic of my sucess, but have no cam :mad1:
i did all of this with a sprained wrist(you guessed it, longboarding) so i had to use my right hand to melt in. and im mostly a lefty!
On the rod, you can get the design way out their by holding your glass rod at about a 45% angle an when the starts to get hot an get smaller I'll flatten the marble on a graphite pad but using the weight of the rod only, DO NOT ad any pressure to this tech. This let's outside glass run up in an makes you design implode out. The more you do this the more your design will implode until you only see a tiny 'string ' of color from your orignal design. hope that helped.

yeah, im gettin this down. it seems like when you flatten after a melt it cool the center allowing the outter glass to fall over itself, makin the color go in. i just tried another after makin this thread. i think ill be doin these allllllll week. fun steez

To make a deep implosion, you have to heat farther up the maria. Then marver it more gently. Marvering it hard will make it bloom like a flower.
