Someone I know cannot post with the do not have permission page. they said they send an email 2 times but have not gotten a reply.
Martyd is what they said thier user name is. They can log in. I do not find them in the members list.
Thanx
ed
Hi Ed,
I checked and couldn't find Martyd, either. Is this a new member? If so, each new member has to be manually approved and added by an administrator. He won't show up on the member list or be able to post until this is done.
Usually, it is done once a day or every few days. Unfortunately, many of the applications for membership are attempts at spam, so this is the best system we have found to counteract those attempts.
Also, I believe that your friend has to act on a confirmation email. Do you know if he received that yet?

Yes he is new. He said that he did the email thing, in fact he says:
I have a user name, martyd, and password which it recognizes and even welcomes me when I come online
What should I have him do?
ed
Yeah, sounds like he is going to have to wait until one of the administrators can fix him up. Sorry about the wait.

He is a little frustrated that he has sent 2 emails and it has been 3 days I think and no response from anyone. He tried to relog on and it told him it couldn't because his email address was used.
What do I tell him? How long does he have to wait?
Thanx
ed
I can't give an exact time. I just checked and none of the 3 administrators has been here today. There have been moderators checking in, but none of us can do what he needs done... only the administrators. I am confident it will be taken care of once one of them comes by.
Again, sorry for the inconvenience for your friend... tell him I apologized, but this place is run by volunteers. We're doing our best.
Also, please make sure he checks out this link (http://www.talkglass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8918).
It has links (to get an activation code and to activate his account) that might solve it. Being registered but not activated is sometimes the problem.
