So whats the protocall for doing this i need to do it in a bit..

I was thinking I was going to hang half the tube out of the kiln and just ramp up half..

will that cause problems annealing just half the tube. ??

thats my ?

thx guys

Should be fine if it is mainly clear. Saw someone put together a tube like that at the DGF, half hanging out of the kiln.

yeah, I've heard of people assembling fully worked tubes this way.

Yea should be ok, especially if the end that is sticking out is all clear.

Should be able to add the mibs without even throwing it in the kiln. then throw it in after your done.

well I kilned half and added the mibs all was good till the last one and got a crack bout 3 inches up the tube.. so I ramped her up to 1200 put on the glove and healed it up in the kiln with my hand torch ,,

whewwwwwww,, almost made the last 2 days worthless.. almost ;)

Oh is it a worked tube? or clear? Youd prolly want to heat it up if it was color. Thats a different story than 50 x 5 clear.

Try to polish out the whole Ice "push" if you can that should help relieve the stress
